Manchester is a place where you'll have opportunities to grow, to lead and to make a difference. Our Stellify programme helps you make the most of the many transformative experiences available here. You can even work towards an award to complement your degree.

At Manchester we'll help you widen your knowledge and experiences. You'll embark on a journey to a successful life and career.

Manchester's always been a city of movement and sound, from the Hacienda to the Warehouse Project, The Smiths to The 1975. Today you can explore the Northern Quarter's independent bars or the famous LGBTQ hub, Canal Street. Or head to one of the countless music venues: Liam Gallagher, Gorillaz and Ed Sheeran have all performed here in the last year.

Whatever you look for in a night out, Manchester will have something for you.

Halls of residence

We offer over 8,000 rooms across 20 different halls. This means that you'll be guaranteed a place to live in first year.

We have halls in three locations, each with its own atmosphere, so you'll be able to find somewhere that feels like home. Whether your preference is en suite or shared bathrooms, catered or self-catered, we'll have somewhere to suit you. We also have family flats, single-sex halls and disabled access for those with specific needs.

We are a 20-minute walk from Manchester's centre, and on the busiest bus route in Europe. Getting around couldn't be easier.

Manchester is an exciting place to be with cultural hotspots, sports facilities and shops for you to explore. With global cuisines suiting all budgets to try, you'll never go hungry. If you want to venture out of the city, we're a short train ride from the stunning scenery of the Peak District - the perfect place for a walk.

Clubs and societies

We boast the largest and most active students' union in the country, with more than 480 clubs and societies to choose from.

You'll be able to finesse your skills, indulge your passion or try something completely new. Whether you choose pantomime or lacrosse, quidditch or politics, you'll meet people who share your interests.

Respectable uni with amazing library and building amenities, lots of resources available. But not a lot of personal individual help and mental support etc. The buildings vary a lot in how well kept they are

Amazing uni, lots to do and good societies. Make sure to live in fallowfield because it’s the best place to be in Manchester. Amazing city and a very good and academic uni to go with it.
