College system helps you meet people. Some colleges are definitely better than others though. As someone who didn't get into the college I applied to but now go to a different college. My college is so much worse than the one I applied to so I feel a bit cheated. It's worse because it is fairly small and because of that the societies struggle to organise stuff.

Nightlife is not that good, but ither aspects are good such as sport. Geography buildings are good and the lecturers are interesting

Very pretty city to live in. Sports are very good. No reading weeks sadly though and very high intensity environment! If you deal well with stress then Durham will be okay though! Also because of the moving of Stockton campus lectures are now starting earlier and the library is not big enough. Durham needs to put in a bit more effort to make sure they are putting students first. Also my course (biomed) had 12 pieces of coursework on top of 6 exams. This is too many and puts too much pressure on students.

College system is at best a fun way to meet people to play football with and at worst offers very little support and mental health provision, drives up the cost of rent, and serves compulsory bland overpriced food. Durham would be better if if it stopped spreading Itself so thin and abandoned the college system

The teaching at the university is great and the support from lecturers. However I don’t think that the college system works for everyone - the smaller colleges are very gossipy and it often get like a nasty, bitchy boarding school all of first year

I find the organisation of teaching for my course average. I study a self-taught degree that I used to enjoy until coming here. Having said this, I find the social aspect and opportunities in this university fantastic! Given that the city is so small, it is a very student-friendly city too.

The campus is really pretty, however the course I'm on is really badly structured. The course leaders are unsupportive and refuse to sympathise with my friends SEND requirements. The course content is detailed however is pitched at a student body which should already know about the topic. From someone who hasn't learnt the topic before and has not been given a reading list, the content is not accessible.

The course and people are great but the city(if it even merits that title) is painfully small and the lack of options on a night out makes me want to cry
