The society is really fun, with individual sports like this it's important to have a sense of belonging and interaction between everyone, and the tri society is one of the most welcoming and social of all. The clubs get funding from the uni to pay for training weekends away and help subsidise running costs of hiring the pool for swimming training once a week and other expenses. If you're interested in finding a fun way to keep up cardio whilst trying to attempt longer running/swimming/cycling events; or even if you are more of a veteran and have been to many a multisport event, this is the place to be! Socials are alright, tends to be generic in making it about going out to Wind St and going out clubbing, but rarely there are sober socials such as laser tag and meals out which are great. All in all, I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone interested in getting into triathlon.
