The campus has a great city location, very easy access with all the facilities that you could ever need while studying. Student union puts on loads of events for amazing nightlife
The collegiate campus is a diverse modern part of the university with lots facilities such as the gym and Library nearby. Alongside this you have restaurants and cafes all within a close proximity which are lovely to go to during free periods.
Our course is a newly developed one and although has had some teething problems, lecturers have delivered it as best as they can
I have attended two courses at Sheffield Hallam university (foundation degree and bachelors degree) and I am now currently on my third course (masters). I have class tied to study with the university as they are a very industry based university and accord mate part one students well (which I am). The courses are well structured and the assessment methods are well balanced. Lectures are always on hand to offer their support should there be any issues.
My course, criminology and sociology, was good at Hallam. It was quite easy in the first year to pass and then it go harder with third year being really hard, but the lecturers made it really interesting. The assessments were varied and thought provoking. Overall I would definitely suggest this course at this university as it all made for a good three years
The experience of uni has been amazing. Tutors have helped and supported everytime. Even in their free time they have met with me to help em achieve the higher grade possible. It’s been so good, was nervous when I came and now I’m a pro!
Okay so this is a very very very very nice uni and the city is good too and the people are nice as well sheffield hallam has got an amazing stident union and a very nice organization
Sheffield Hallam is one of the best universities i have visited. This university has many facilicites for the students to hse such as the library. I am looking forward to starting univeristy so i can build up many different skills
The best uni ever. Being an international student, I felt like home. Couldn't be more happier. All the students are so helpful and friendly and so are the lectures
Loved it. So much to do around Sheffield in the little city. I did sport and exercise science for three years and it was great. Learnt so much and was so tailored to real life.
Sheffield Hallam University is a great place to study. It has a fantastic range of courses to choose from. The lecturers are supportive. The halls of residence are located in a lovely part of the city near to the campus. It is an inexpensive place to live. The amenities and nightlife offer many opportunities to socialise and make friends. There are many parks and green areas and it is next to the Peak District National Park. The people are friendly too.
It is really well laid out, bus to travel from each campus. The building numbers and rooms are the most complicated thing to get your head around.
Great nights out, good amount of help, huge and fab lib with good books! Much bookable space, thousands of halls rooms, great student living, in the city centre, affordable
The uni is good, the halls are fun! It’s a good experience overall. There are lots of societies to join and majority of the people are really nice! Some of the lecturers are unhelpful and some are really good! Definitely worth going! You get back what you put in!
The campus is ideally located in the centre of town, right next to all the shops and bars. I study mechanical engineering and enjoy it greatly. The student union is reasonable if a bit small. Careers services were great in helping me find my sandwich placement.
Great uni. Great location. Great connections with student events. Best part would have to be the 24 hour library!!!
Campus facilities constantly being refurbished/improved. Students opinions could be more involved & taken into account. Facilities are modern but more could be beneficial due to the number of students and size of the university.
The campus is easily accessible, the facilities are up to date and clean, the psychology course is very interesting and high tempo, you must keep up to date to ensure you don’t fall behind, the careers services are good and helpful and adverts are around uni so you know where to find them and the experience is great!
Both campuses are great with really good facilities. Lecturers on my course have been so supportive and helpful throughout the whole 3 years, and most of them are really quick at responding to emails. Careers service has also been helpful for personal statement writing and interviews.
The new collegiate campus is lovely as is city campus. Library at collegiate is too small. Tutors kept cancelling meetings all year. The HUBs are a joke - don’t know anyone who’s ever been there apart from freshers fair. No where near the level of Uni of Sheffield’s union which I’ve been to more than HUBs.
Overall buildings and experience has been very good, the staff are slightly disorganised in letting us know what we need to hand in when. Turn around for results are really fast and good, they have a 3 week turnaround.
Hallam has a wonderful atmosphere with many lovely and helpful staff, the student support services and well-being services have been amazingly helpful
Poor campus feel, seems neglected although new plans will rectify this. Very poor teaching for my course at least but various good modules and assignments. Student union is non existent.
