So much to do; lots of free things (which students love!); clearly a lot of effort goes into this; however should be more clear about "freshers" and "refreshers" and ensure all new first year students are informed well in advance about the fairs!!!

Freshers in Belfast was fantastic. There were many events planned such as fresher fairs and nights out. Whether you like to dance or whether you like to chat in a bar, there was something for everyone. I highly recommend getting involved in as much as possible during freshers, this is key to meeting new people. And often the friends you meet in freshers become your permanent friends.

I found Fresher's Week to be an incredible experience, the SU held all kinds of events to get students acquainted with one another and all the clubs and societies held their own mixers and welcome events, the only problem was there was too much to do! The Fresher's Fair was an excellent chance to make connections and get signed up for all the clubs and societies, as well as to collect a lot of free thingamabobs.

Meeting new people comes down to just braving it and going up to someone and chatting!! Even if it’s just a question or something, it’ll get someone talking and you’ll find their vibe and decide if you/ they’re interested! Best thing to do is to just go for it!!

Freshers week is what made the start of uni so amazing! Meeting new people who would become your friends for life, heading to your first few lectures hungover but excited about this new chapter, and then doing it all again! Every night gave me butterflies, I wouldn't change it for the world!!!

Excellent week for the dudes I must say, every day seemed Wednesday like. Maybe because it was Wednesday everyday, my dudes.

I found that Fresher's Week events were often centred on drinking, such as pub crawls, pub quizzes etc. While I understand that there is a culture for drinking at university, believe it or not, there are students who don't drink. Being a non drinker, I didn't feel comfortable going on a pub crawl and becoming the one who would have to look after all her legless friends. I have absolutely nothing against drinking, it's just not for me personally, but it would be nice if Fresher's Week included some activities that allowed you to meet new people and make friends in a setting without alcohol.

The students union put on so many events over the whole week, my year they had Jedward and Bwitched play as well as foam parties and paint parties! All the nightclubs also do so many promotions across the week so there is somewhere to go every night of the week!

The great thing about going out in Belfast is that you can walk home from the club. Belfast is so small that everything is within walking distance. I’m not a huge fan of nightclubs, but here’s all the info I could pull on where to go on student nights out

Freshers week is definitely a must do for all students starting university! It helps the new 'freshers' to get to know their surroundings and become familiar with the atmosphere and style of university and student life. It allows them to interact with new people, including those who are not in their course. They can experience different workshops within the universities and also get a feel for the night life!

I would say that my freshers experience was very good. I went and saw the freshers fair that took place in my SU. It also had a refreshers fair so if you didn't sign up for a club at the start of the year you could later on. Everyone was so friendly and made me feel right ah home straight away.

Really enjoyed freshers. QUB is a great place and everyone is very friendly. Drink is cheap and clubs are full. Dont fall behind in work though because its really hard to get caught up

People very friendly, would recommend QUB to anyone. Drinks cheaper than most places and clubs usually full. Id advise new students to do some work during freshers at some point though because catching up is hard.
