Hockey

Oxford Brookes university hockey club is the best club at Brookes, just saying. There are 5 men’s teams and 5 women’s teams and then a mixed team which play on a Sunday. All games are played on a Wednesday either at the Brookes pitch or we play away at the opponents pitch. We get there by minibus, which one of the team drivers. The 1s and 2s team of each side have coaches and the 1s women and men’s team have extra training such as gym, running and an extra training session on Thursday. Everyone trains for an hour and 30 mins on a Monday at the Brookes pitch. After games on Wednesday, everyone hands around the hockey pitch and then we go to our socials with other teams and then we head to the half moon for a whole club social and then off to the o2, also known as fishies.

The socials are always really Fun and it's always enjoyable to mix with other teams. The atmosphere at training and matches is always really good

Hockey is the biggest sports club at Oxford Brookes, 10 teams (5 womens and 5 mens) and a mixed team. Socials every Wednesday where each team mixes with another so everyone gets to know everyone else throughout the club. Anyone at any ability can join, there's always a team to suit. No one I know has complained about it, everyone has so much fun, and I don't know what I'd do without it!
