My course, graphic communication and illustration, is really industry focused. We are always taught to design our projects like they are real briefs which pushes us. Only small thing more contact hours in third year would be ideal.

Campus is very big and has loads of great facilities. I really enjoy the free weekly sports sessions they run. The course is good but has too many 9am's for me personally. The careers services here are very good due to the many careers fairs and the career events they run.

Loughborough University is has campus with a campus Bus which makes everything easy accessible and you can get from one end of campus to the other in 5 minutes instead of 30. Sadly this bus is not an electric bus which means that Loughborough University is producing quite a bit of CO2. Loughborough still has quite a bit to do on the sustainability front but they have a huge sector for charities. They have an entire office dedicated to charity work and they raise over £1,000,000 annually. The student union has been labeled one of the best in the UK and not without reason. During the day it is the perfect place to hold a meeting, get some lunch or just to meet up with friends. At night it turns into a club with at least 3 different dance floors. Every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday it is packed and you'll always be able to find a dj which you like.

University itself is great but my course (Graphic Communication & Illustration) is not so much, course is very poorly organised and certain tutors focus more on their ego than teaching.

Lots of opportunistic due to the university's great network with hundreds of companies across the UK. The employment fairs are huge and there are constant employment talks for those interested. Facilities are amazing from sports to accademic. And the societies and athletics extracurricular available is extremely diverse. There's something for everyone at Loughborough university!

The gym called power base is really nice. Campus is the biggest in Europe and I really like it. There are a lot of sports facilities that I can use to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Student union has very cheap drinks which very much so appreciate.

I love Loughborough and wouldn't have chosen another university. I love a campus based university as there is a community feel to it, especially being an international student.

Engineering facilities are amazing. They must have one of the best facilities in the uk for engineering. Sports facilities and quality is amazing, best in the country.

Large campus everything is 5-10 minute walk, good facilities e.g. library, great sporting facilities. Course is well structure and they offer great support for your course as well as personal. Everyone is very friendly, you'll make friends everywhere and there's always something to get involved in.

Loughborough university provides a well rounded university experience that allows students to fully immerse themselves in their course whilst providing exctextra curricular opportunities, not just sport, but volunteering, and opportunities to progress and lead, which, when applying for jobs sets their students apart from others. The campus is phenomenal, and the town has all necessary amenities, it's a shame that it's not more cosmopolitan and refined, as if it were, I could guarantee that more people would apply to the university.

Lovely uni, friendly and feels like home. Going into my 3rd year and feels like I’ve been there 2 minutes! Union is large and there’s always plenty going on. The town is good for food and drink but lacks entertainment like bowling

Overall tutors are reliable and helpful. Their active research informs the course and practice which benifits us. The resources we are able to access are satisfactory to accomplish our briefs however it is evident tge school of the arts recieves very little funding to improve equipment and available tools whixh would only better our work. More funding and attention to the school of the arts is necessary to cement it's reputation against other art courses. Moreover there is also a lack of space particularly for graphic design students. Design studios where we have to work are cramped with the group sizes we have whixh means we struggle to make full use of our limited studio hours.

Campus is great, it has everything a student needs but campus shops can be a little pricey plus campus shuttles can take a while after 4pm. Facilities are great however especially the sports ones. Library and gym are awesome. My course was very tough and I think the courses at loughborough in general are very challenging as I've heard from other students. Hopefully it's all worth it though! Students union has a big variety of societies and I'm sure anyone can find one that suits them. There are a lot of opportunities to get involved in volunteering or part time work on campus on real projects that you're genuinely interested in and can be used to not only enhance your university experience but also to develop your skill set and cv strength. Careers services has been amazing, they provide a wide range of workshops to do with job applications, essay writing, interview prep etc. They also provide quick advice or long consultations to help you in your next chapter in life. There is a friendly and helpful environment within the organisation and this helps especially at stressful times as a student. Some cons about the uni (to keep it fair) is that the teaching can sometimes be sub-par and more support is needed to the students from some of the teachers. Also, being a highly ranked sports uni, they take great pride in being unbeaten bucs champions for nearly 40 years but being on the basketball team, I can tell anyone that there's a dark side. Sports schedules can sometimes be demanding which is good and expected but that needs to be accompanied with more student support, which I feel Loughborough lacks in. Also there is a very "win win win" approach and unfortunately this comes at the expense of athlete development. Barely any emphasis on increasing athlete potential as far as my basketball experiences tell me and it's almost all about "win for us so we can stay on top". It doesnt make it any better that players had to pay 200£ per season after being selected on the team where we didn't even get to keep our kit (we had to give them back after every game) plus some away games on weekends we had to chip in the transport costs (I mean, really). It was also compulsory for us to buy a full lboro sport tracksuit. I came to Loughborough partly for the sports and I was quite disappointed with it. I know several other players on my team who felt a similar way. In fact, In my second season 4 out of the 5 starting five suspended themselves for a period of time due to the increasing work demands and this links to my previous point about the lack of student support for the student athletes. Compare this to the big American universities who also pride themselves in sporting excellence, only except they have whole departments dedicated to student athlete academic support. I know many players come to Loughborough after being one of the best players in their region and even in the country, expecting to come to Loughborough as a stepping stone to reach professional status all whilst gaining a degree at the same time. That's a beautiful aspiration but unfortunately many come out disappointed and I blame this on lack of support and lack of player development. All in All, loughborough university has been a great experience in every single way through the highs and the lows and it is really an amazing university but if they spent more time on developing people (like an oxbridge approach, with a little more lboro flavour) rather than just maintaining ranking status, I think they could be one of the best in the country.

The university is excellent particularly in terms of sports facilities and helping with future career opportunities/work placements.

Great campus and great efforts put by university to bring it into top 5 in the UK. The students' union too has a great reputation across the country.

The students are extremely friendly and everyone wants to interact with you. Lecturers are always available for you in case you ever need any sort of help. Loads of activities to do such as play sports with random students.

One of the things I love about my university is that it's a campus. Meaning everything from the two gyms, students unions, accommodation halls, shops, lecture buildings, the library, sports facilities and department offices are all on a 438 acres area! It made my experience easkery as everything was on site and there is even a free campus shuttle to get you around! Talk about convenience. I've visited a few friends universities and I have to say the library here is the best I've seen. Multiple floors with books and access to hundreds of computers, with a cafe for your important study break!

The best things about Loughborough are the large campus, the student union and my course (English literature). My least favourite things are the halls, some of which need updating. As a non-sporty person it was disappointing that I couldn't join in with my sports on a basic level, I found it elitist.

Really nice campus and friendly environment. Feels like a bit of a bubble sometimes as town is small and rundown in some areas. Verry supportive with any needs you may need and the union is good for a night out and verry cheap. Obviously is very well know for its sports there is lots to get involved I

The engineering program is great and I would recommend it. Living in halls is weird at first but as everything is on campus it is easy to navigate yourself around. The facilities are updating where the new ones are really nice and good to study in. The free stuff in uni is advertised, but you yourself need to find it more as if they is something you want to do than you kinda have to know the right people to ask to do it. E.g. different societies and what they actually do and how they are.

13 March 2018

Very good for sport. The facilities are incredible. The gym is world class, the pitches are brilliant and the coaches are brill-tastic

10 March 2018

I like the Loughborough campus since all the buildings are in close proximity to each other compared to some other universities where all the departments are quite far apart from each other. Also, the facilities that Loughborough University offers to us students is very extensive. I would say that our student union is quite interactive with all the students and that it is one of the best student unions in the UK.

The campus is reliable and shuttle buses are available to get around campus! Course needs to be more organised and have more consistency in many aspects. Sports facilities are great! Careers is helpful. Union need to update music and change the playlist because we all can predict the next song just likevtaht because you have it on replay!!! and have more events and change stuesday because it is not great!

Nice campus and facilities, especially sports. Huge library with a lot of books - a big deal for uni students!
