Liverpool is one of the best places to go to Uni. John moores provides an interesting course with loads of fieldtrips which provide good experiences for the students

great teaching from lecturers and tutors and great academic facilities. However the sports facilities, especially the sports hall are very poor.

Some of the buildings need to be modified which is underway, good nightlife, student union is lacklustre as there is no building dedicated to it, thus confusing finding or locating the president etc. Staff are generally helpful.

Liverpool John moores university is a good uni and was a great place to further my education, resulting in a marketing degree.

I love studying at John moores, the majority of my lecturers and modules are very good however to get to my campus I have to take a 20minute bus as it's not in the city centre like the other campuses. This is very annoying and does put me off going in sometimes

With a great location for those who like a night out this university is very good for its location. However the buildings are difficult to navigate and very old in parts. Lectures are sufficient and lecturers are helpful but career services and the library aren't always useful.

In an ideal area for anyone looking for the student life and nights out 6 days a week. With good facilities it is easy to get around but you have to by all your own books which can get expensive especially when you're paying £9250 already. However teachers are helpful and lectures are good in the humanities department.

Nice campus, lots of helpful staff, although course and modules could be planned and explained better. Facilities are good however could have improved sports facilities at the IM Marsh campus

Campus is good in city centre location near to all halls and shops and clubs. Teaching is of the quality you would expect, often just prepared powerpoints but does include all information required.

Campus building is reasonably new and has all the facilities needed. Library is in close proximity to each campus and loan laptops are handy for when you don't have your own. My course - Quantity Surveying, is reasonably well taught but let down with some modules. From experience the student union isn't too reliable and you never really hear from them unless they're asking you to vote in an election. Careers services are helpful and provide you with job prospects e.g. Emailing you about placement vacancies and organising careers fairs. Overall experience is good

Although I would give the media production facilities 5 stars, the quality of teaching drags it down because we don’t get the support and guidance that is worthy of £9,700 a year.

I study at the Humanities campus which is in a nice location, surrounded by the Cathedral and many coffee shops and pubs. The facilities are quite good with the libraries always having a computer free and it being straight forward to print. Although I'm not very happy on my course and I think the university weren't helpful when I mentioned I wanted to change last year.

Overall my experience at university has been slightly disappointing. My course has seemed disorganised at times and I feel that I could've got more out of it if it was better organised.

Allowed a lecturer with 5 years+ of complaints from students to continue working until in my final year, jeopardising grades from several assignments in his modules. Over-loading students with too many assignments per semester, not taking into consideration extra-curricular activities or jobs. Computing facilities were superb, but at times it is difficult to find an available computer in several buildings. Mental health facilities and experts are brilliant and offer the best support, however not enough funding or staff to accommodate the number of students requiring mental health assistance, which in turn has led to long waiting lists for appointments.

Been really good for first and second year, plenty of support. However due to my disability not being diagnosed had a hard time getting any help! Third year felt like support was less when I thought it would be a lot more.

The Byrom Street campus is good, but could use cheaper food and a larger area to eat. The cafeteria is tiny. There is no student union building and that’s probably one of the most disappointing things about LJMU. There are very limited sports facilities and are a fair distance from the city centre campuses

The location of the university building isn’t the best and it relatively difficult to get to, particularly for those who use public transport. Not much support available.

The campus is very clean and well designed, the buildings are close by and located near the student accommodation. However the John foster building is old and hard to navigate, the toilets are small and the whole building is freezing cold. Marketing as a course has been enjoyable but unorganised and hard to catch up on, I find it confusing to catch up on any missed work and the lecturers are not great at replying. The students union is tiny and has very little facilities, there is no student bar!! My experience hasn't been great so far as I've been very homesick and actually wanted to change uni's throughout. But in such a vibrant city I'm sure I'll yet find my place!!

There are three ljmu campuses and the one I am in is definitely the better one! There are lots of activities you could get involved in, such as campus reps to judo or dance etc. The student union organises events for us to take part and often give out freebies- who can say no to that?! I definitely had fun at ljmu but there is a lack of feeling like you are part of the whole uni when the campuses are so far apart. There's no feeling of a community within the uni. It's not really noticeable when you are with your friends but it is an issue. The library tends to be full most of the time so finding a computer or laptop can take a while. Overall, ljmu is amazing especially when it's located by city centre and several student accommodations.

The course wasn't at all what I was expecting. Some tutors are pretty manipulative in regards to the kind of work that you produce. The lack of organisation is astonishing. The building itself is fairly good, there are some excellent facilities however there are no supplies provided and they're extremely expensive. Some of the lecturers and tutors are fantastic, the members of staff are brilliant in the cafe area.
