Join a community of ambitious, passionate and skilled people who are committed to having an impact in one of four industries: agriculture, animal, equine or sport.
You'll benefit from among the best quality teaching in the UK - we hold Teaching Excellence Framework Gold. You'll also be following in the footsteps of 97% of our graduates who are in employment or further study within 6 months (DLHE, 2013-16 average).
We work with over 2,000 employers to help our students find the right work experience, ready for their careers. We also have six businesses on site, ranging from equine and animal therapy to a commercial farm and sports injury clinic.
Our animal facilities are impressive; our students have access to over 90 species that live on our 360-hectare campus to enhance their learning.
Our commercial farm, that works with Waitrose and Sainsbury's, means our agriculture students have opportunities to gain real-world experience right on their doorstep.
Our equine facilities are world-class and attract big equine champions, many of which compete at our international equine events each year.
Our performance Sports Academies give our sports students plenty of practical experience, as they apply what they learn with real athletes. We also have our own Championship rugby team.
We have big ideas about the world and challenge, nurture and empower each other to make them happen. Our students and graduates travel far and wide to make a difference across the globe.
Our history dates back to World War II when we started as an agricultural college with only 50 students. Today we have more than 3,500 students studying undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
Nightlife
Gloucestershire is widely known as the UK's "festival-county". It's perfect for those of you who love to kick-back at weekends and have fun. From the Gloucester Docks Tall Ships Festival and Cheltenham's Cricket Festival to the famous 2000 trees Music Festival, there's always something going on. You'll find over 45 music and arts festivals every year. That's one almost every weekend!
Halls of residence
You could choose to live in Hartpury managed halls-of-residence on campus surrounded by Gloucestershire's beautiful countryside or off campus in the heart of Gloucester City centre. Our off-campus accommodation includes halls-of-residence managed by an external company.
Whichever option you go for, you'll get the best of both rural and urban worlds.
Location
We're located just five miles from Gloucester City centre, with buses that come right on to campus. Gloucester is the ninth fastest growing city in the UK (Growing Gloucester's Visitor Economy, 2016) with over 60 spoken languages. Gloucester Cathedral was the backdrop for Harry Potter.
We're also 12 miles from Cheltenham town (which is more like a city). Cheltenham hosts the famous Gold Cup horseracing festival and the world-famous literature, science and jazz festivals each year.
Clubs and societies
Think of the Students' Union (SU) as a hub for life outside lectures. It's where you can discover recreational sports and hobbies, air your views, meet like-minded people and find out how to do CV-boosting voluntary work or raise money for charity. You'll be able to elect the students who you feel best represent you - you might even feel inspired to get involved in student politics yourself.
Our SU provides a whole range of sports clubs and societies for you to try out. Below you'll find just a few, but if your passion isn't already here, the SU will help you establish a brand new club!
Our clubs and societies include: Snow Sports, Polo, Creative Media, Cheerleading, Polocrosse, Equestrian, LGBT, Powerlifting, Christian Union, Raise and Give and Volleyball.
Freshers' week
We plan a whole week of brilliant activities and sessions for you to help you make good friends and settle in quickly. Every evening during Freshers' Week, our on-campus bar, Legends, will be the centre of your world. It's the hub for lots of fun activities, kicking off with our Welcome Party.
