City, University of London

Staff are smart and well-versed in their respective fields but are rather unwilling to offer support especially to students lagging behind. As a result students either do very well or completely fail at passing. Got to look out for yourself in this university, it seems as if people are very competitive to the point of being unhealthy.

To start my University is NOT listed. I study at Birkbeck college, University of London. The campus it’s amazing in central London, Bloomsbury square, the environment is fun but quite mature since the majority of students are + 25. They have a massive students union place, with a bar and club and loads of societies you can choose from including LGBT rights, cricket, music etc etc. Overall it’s really good

Campus has a great feel, it’s is a fantastic location in central London and is close to some quirky places for drinks and entertainment. The staff are by far the best part of University, they are super attentive and approachable and the standard of teaching is very high!

Organization is very poor, there is a clear divide between the schools. CASS and the law school have better funding, events etc compared to SASS. Despite multiple students complaining there seems to be very little change or even acknowledgement of the issues. Not challenging enough, very basic very teaching most lecturers read from the slides and don’t add any additional information. The slides themselves are very basic and more often than not very helpful or insightful.

City university London is a great university. It has so many great facilities for learning the library and opportunities they give you are so vast. They work you hard and it makes it so worrthwhile. The sports facilities were renovated and created a year ago and are really amazing and at a really good price for students. The only thing that needs a little finding is putting money into the social life of the uni and societies even though you’re allowed to create your own society it is abit difficult to meet others from other courses out of timetable.

Lecturers are very good and excited to teach, There are societies for everyone so you can feel welcomed and feel part of an community and it is easy to make friends. However there isnt much cafes and restaurants to hangout after lectures. Overall it very satisfying and campus is improving throughot these three years i have been.

The course is good however all of our deadlines are always cramped together. Though the university overall is exceptional.

The faculty of this university is really amazing and helpful. The library facility is also of a very standard quality allowing students to study wherever and however they want.

The campus is good. The library isn’t open 24 hours a day unless it’s exam season and it can be hard to find a place to sit down when it’s very busy. Investment and financial risk management is an interesting degree as the elective modules allow you to gain a vast amount of knowledge on multiple topics. The careers service is excellent and is very useful.

Overall good facilities, course and lecturers satisfactory but the experience overall is not that good as there is no community feeling. The student union failed to engage students with the uni life.

Due to the refurbishment over the last year, City has become a beautiful sight - which is abit of a shame considering it is my final year! I study criminology and all of my lecturers are renowned in the field and have been nothing but supportive throughout my three years! Organisation of the uni, on the other hand, is appalling: late timetables and clashing occurs every term without a doubt. My overall experience of City is a positive one: the people i have met and the network i have built is something i will carry throughout career and life.

the university itself is situated in a nice location close to a lot of bars, cafes and public transport links. the food served at the university is not as great as neighbouring universities and lacks variety whilst being overpriced. plus hot food isn’t served throughout the day. lectures are somewhat educational but not all lecturers upload lecture capture which is bad. solutions to tutorial questions aren’t always uploaded or are after a lot of nagging and delay. most tutors never seem to reply back to emails.

The campus is conscised but which is a good thing because everyhting is right around the corner. The lecturers and tutors are very helpful. Student's Union is quite vibrant.

Accounting and Finance course has many interesting modules mostly focussed around financial accounting classes. Lectures have very good experience in the industry and are able to make the modules interesting. Cass Business School is locates around 20 minutes walk from main campus, and host many extremely enjoyable events and networking opportunities which widens the scope of learning rather than purely based upon lectures. The societies available in the university are relatively limited, but they are useful and there’s an ability to go to a clubs and society’s fair at the beginning of the degree. The university has a gym about a 10 minute walk away, which has reduced payments for students. The facilities there are good and the sports hall hosts many games.

City University has a wide range of facilities available for their students! These include silent rooms, PC rooms, informal study rooms etc. Staff are supportive when dealing with individual needs

There isn't really a community feel at this university like there seems to be at other universities. However the careers service is really good and so is the library.

I chose City university for the right reasons. I am extremely satisfied with all its facilities, people’s, teachers. I just love it. I study law and it’s amazing how involved the tutors are in trying to help each student to do well and most importantly to understand the concepts. The law library is a very important and one of the best facilities available in the university. It’s very happening, as some sort of event is constantly coming up. The City bar is always lit, people chill and hang out, play games! It’s good.

The student union is going a great job, the campus is clean and modern but as international student sometimes I ask for what I’m paying so much money for? I wouldn’t say it’s a fair money value.

Teaching staff are so good and supportive. Location is so central London (EC1)! Timetabling is so good, instead of having 5 different lectures on 5 different days they’ll clump them over 2 days leaving lots of spare time for socialising

I've enjoyed my time studying at city university, I like the campus especially the computer science common room which was built as a place for computer science students to study and hang out with other computer science students. I also enjoy the course I'm on however some of the lecturers could be better

The course itself and the teaching staff are for the most part, pretty good. But the main problems is within the organisation. We find out our timetable the day before a term starts. Classes are moved. Coursework is all crammed within a few days. It is hard to contact admin for help as they are always busy or off.
