Bath Spa University

It is an average small uni, not the best. Some courses are better than others, and the same goes with lecturers. The SU is just a cafe basically, not a club like many others, likely due to its location as it is on campus which is far from town where everyone goes clubbing.

The overall campus at Bath Spa is very good. Though small, students are able take in the hills and acres of land surrounding the campus.

Newton Park campus is really a friendly place to be, and also really beautiful. There’s a gorgeous lakeside walk which is great to blow away the cobwebs! The tutors (well the ones on my course at least) were incredibly supportive and lovely. The library is quite small but a nice space to study. Bath Spa Uni is ace!

This university has the prettiest campus and there is plenty of help if you need it. Slightly unorganised and the students are way too sensitive about everything. There is also not a fun SU like a normal uni and lacks so much that other universities have because it’s so small. Not a proper lecture hall which is the worst thing.

University life is different to what I expected, in both good and bad ways. There is a money issue however this can be solved by a part time job. Also, the friends and experiences you gain mean it allows you to enjoy the full university experience.

The campus is set in a beautiful place and is a really calm place to be. However due to it being quite far out of town, unless you are on campus it can be quite inconvenient to get to. The university has no main lecture theatre so most lectures are in a large room with plastic chairs, which don't have enough room to be able to have notes or laptops. My course, criminology and sociology started of slow in the first year as it was very similar to my A level course. In my second year the course had livened up as is now exactly what I wanted from my university experience.

Well, the fact that I am coming back for my Masters to this University shows how much I adore it. I had a great undergraduate here and learned tons of things. And now I'm studying a Masters to become a screenwriter, for Bath Spa helped me discover this desire. Fantastic campus and great education. Although a bit more organisation in the administration would be preferable. However, apart from that, I am satisfied,

The course has very little teaching elements, which is good for an MPhil student who wants to focus on working in the lab, however it would be good to have more spaces available on course where you can learn programming and computational biology

In the arts part of the university, the campus is away from the main campus, but it's still really nice with all the facilities you need to be able to make your work. The technicians are all really friendly and helpful too which is a big plus

I would recommend this uni to anybody! It has the most beautiful campus with a lake which is surrounded by beautiful fields and has a multitude of different wildlife such as ducks swans deer foxes and rabbits which is so relaxing compared to the busy and hectic life style of uni! I study commercial music, which I’ve found has amazing facilities, provides loads of lecture hours and also contact hours are available for us to book In our own time! It also has amazing facilities like Mac labs, work space on campus and food and drinks for those doing long days! This uni, or atleast I’ve witnessed, has caring lecturers who listen and understand and want the best for each and every one of their students. The university also has great facilities and lecture halls, some of the subjects even study in the small and old ‘castle’ at the end of the lake! However, it is rather of town , meaning you have to travel to and from the town to get to uni which is around a 20minute journey, but the bus services are amazing and run until 3am The student union is a place I don’t go much as I would rather head into bath and go into some of the pubs by the river and also ones with authentic drinks! But the student union provides food, drink and all at food prices as well as a lovely atmosphere to sit and chill!

I’m currently doing an art foundation at bath spa and I’m one of the first students to take this course as it only started last year. I’d rate the course 3 stars. Initially the tutors threw out quite odd briefs that I didn’t feel were fitting but then second term came around and everything started to feel my professional and had purpose.

Great uni, pretty campus, really attentive lectures who take the time to learn your name and make time for you. Some of the older buildings could be updated and so could the facilities / technology for students

The course is very supportive, with a lot of lecturers with contacts straight into the industry. We have lots of visiting lecturers which is really helpful to talk to people in our position.

Really friendly campus with an emphasis on community, student nights could be more widely advertised so those off campus could hear about them. Plus the buses could do with being better on time however overall a uni I would highly recommend!

A really lovely campus. The lecturers that I have are all very helpful and nice. There’s always help with the work, especially on the website.

My campus is the most beautiful campus I have ever seen. Surrounded by countryside and with a beautiful lake this uni has the perfect mix between the city life and also the calm and relaxing atmosphere of the location of the university’s campus. The student union is a really nice place which is quite cheap and has a really nice vibe. It has a lid of live music because we have music and creative subjects at our university so it’s great there. My course is amazing but that’s probably because I am a music student and my course is the most fun and because I’m studying something that I enjoy hard work doesn’t feel so hard.

Beautiful campus situated just outside of the city centre and surrounded by countryside! The university itself is very modern and has a lot of good amentities!

Good university. Generally, good university. Perhaps in need of more parking though. Library a good size, good facilities, informative lectures.

Such a beautiful campus, security 247. Has had some backlash from students after the ex chancellor was given a huge pay out. But our new chancellor is a great guy and has stayed in touch with use while we were snowed in to campus. Living here is great but if it snows you are stuck here. The main drive is treterous and needs to be made wider. One time we all had 5o get out and walk for 1 mile because the bus hit a car on the corner.

University is relatively good value for money, quality of lectures is good, seminars are the most useful aspect of university.

Kirsten Lear

Very good staff that are willing to put in personal time to help you. The seminars are always available on time and they are structured in a clear manner. I am a part time carer and they are amazing at offering support and help to ensure I don't miss out. They do need to start signing off on emails so I know who I am fully talking to.

Great for the university experience, organisation is okay but mostly average university. Pretty campus though

Lovely people, all the lecturerres know what their talking about and are always really supportive in us being to deadlines and helping if necessary. The highlight of my course are the two technical assistants.
