Anglia Ruskin University

I really enjoyed my time at this University, and especially since the Cambridge Campus is so helpful and easy to navigate. Most of the buildings are relatively new or newly refurbished, and they have all the things you need to be able to study and learn efficiently. They are also building a new Science Building now, to replace the old one. Some classrooms did have very poor ventilation, however, but I found this mainly to be the older buildings like Ruskin.

Anglia Ruskin is a friendly and homely place. Very nice to settle in to especially if you're a student who's brand new to the area and not used to living in such a busy place. All the ambassadors are extremely helpful and kind and made me settle in right away. Many of my class rooms are easy to locate and campus is not too far from my chosen accommodation so I don't have to always panic and rush about to get to lecture on time. However one class is off campus and usually takes a bit longer to get to, but this isn't too much of an issue as it's a very good and interactive lesson. The uni itself has lots to offer, from lots of sports clubs to many societies, there's nothing you can't do. Plus lecturers are always on hand to ask questions to regarding your work or module assignments. I've never felt lost or worried since starting here which was such a relief, considering I was so nervous about coming to university. The library is amazing and the services it has to offer are top notch. There's loads of books to read related to my course and so many printing/computer facilities available. Also the online library service is a huge help! As I can do a lot of work from my halls of residence. The cafe at uni is very good and reasonably priced with lots of good food, especially the fry up! I've loved every second of being here so far and I'm excited to see what the next 3 years bring.

I think that the campus facilities have drastically improved since I started uni. For example the new science building and lab facilities is a marked improvement on using the temporary optometry building for lectures. I also think the careers services is also an asset to the uni, I find the staff there very friendly and helpful. They come into our lectures for talks on support after uni and are the reason I undertook a placement year at SeaLife London Aquarium. I've had many meetings with Kim Warner to help me with job applications and she has always been adamant that she will remain helping me post uni. I have found my course to be both engaging and informative and am able to learn I wider range of topics. The lectures are very enthusiastic about their subject and really try to help you succeed.

Cannot fault the staff at Arden, friendly and efficient. I am a distance student and they have made studying from a distance very easy with their online content, resources and accessible tutors.

The degree is ran through Anglia Ruskin at the College of West Anglia university Center. The course is psychosocial studies and is 3 years in total. Within the college there is a library and study area, a canteen, a gym, a salon, a councillor and a careers office.

What a lovely place! I've started my undergrad studies here in September 2018 and I'm so thankful I picked to come here. It's in a nice location with great transport links, the lecturers are truly passionate about their subject and the amount of support students can receive is brilliant. The campus itself has great spaces to sit and study or even just to hang out with friends.

Very good university. Lots of student support services in place, from personal mentors assigned in year 1 through to employability services and student services. Great facilities in all aspects and great resources available. Perfect location for a university city vibe.

The uni isn't the best academically in my opinion, I think the first year I learnt new things and I was happy but the following year wasn't great manly due to the teaching stuff who basically read of the slides The facilities are great the Uni is growing so they're investing a lot more in to the resources I think The organisation overall is doing well because of the level of productive there are at and each year they produce better students

The university is overall pretty okay. The campus is spacious and constantly modernising, with new buildings popping up. Although, the library and whole helmore building need a lot of love, left behind on the refurb list.. looking old and not at all pleasant to study in. The library staff are amazing though. My course is pretty interesting but yearly it fails in delivery, with undedicated or just too busy lecturers, which is very discouraging, despite improving online systems and many student evaluations. The cafeteria food is just not appealing - at all. Again, despite opinion panels nothing really changed and the crap food fills the uni halls with a bad smell all through afternoon. Similarly, the only manually served coffee spot has staff continuously serve burnt soy milk. The campus could really lose some of the vending machines providing very unhealthy products - you don't need that many. I don't know a lot about the student union, you mostly hear from them around election time and other surveys. Lastly, despite lecturers stubbornly trying to tick a box by forcefully organising group work seminars where it is unnecessary and gets in the way, they could really stop it and listen when the students aren't performing their best because of a very uncomfortable setup.

Career services are amazing! They are ready to help you basically 24/7. Also, the rooms continously receive refurbishments and get more items to aid better studying.

I love the university, feel as if there could be some improvements, for example some of the events that they put on could be a little bit better.

The University experience as a whole was amazing and would recommend it to everyone. However Anglia Ruskin could have improved in a couple areas such as the students union being organised poorly especially after my first year where there were little to no events or when there were events they had a small turnout due to poor organisation. The student unions at many other universities were organised much better as they should be as I believe they are a massive part of the university experience. As I said overall I really enjoyed my experience from living in halls and living in Chelmsford but feel like the main let down was the students union and organising events for us students.

So far, the university is satisfactory and I have no major complaints however there are many things that could be improved on, from the quality of the lecture PowerPoints to the fact you have to pay for printing

The Anglia Ruskin campus is very different to other universities, as it is embedded in the centre of Cambridge and not a large as other universities. However, there are very few places on campus in need of an update and due to its size, it's always busy with all types of people. I would recommend anglia Ruskin for anyone with a genuine interest in something as you can peruse whatever you want here and you'll be supported through it.

Very good education system. The lecturers are very motivated to teach us and provide many examples from their careers. The employability scheme is very useful but does not provide enough variety of positions appropriate for the courses. The campus is very good and its location is excellent.

I studied Crime and Investigative Studies. Really enjoyed the course and the opportunities I was given to work on my dissertation. However, some of the modules needed a bit more preparation in advance for them to run a bit more smoothly.
