These are the best console games around at the moment, as voted for by 350 students on our Student Hut Opinion Panel. They ranked them out of 10, on factors such as cross-console compatibility, price and accessibility.
1. Marvel's Spider-Man
The latest instalment in the Spider-Man game series sees Miles Morales donning the famous outfit to protect the streets of New York. The gameplay is incredible, as are the graphics, and the hyper-accurate city map will blow your mind.
2. The Last of Us II
This game is an absolute masterpiece. With stunning graphics, a gripping plotline, and challenging combat mechanics, The Last of Us II has something for everyone.
3. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
The much-loved first-person shooter series is back with another great instalment. While Warzone's frenzied battle royales have kept us busy for much of lockdown, their latest game returns to the franchise's roots with a gripping plotline and the fan favourite Zombies mode.
4. Animal Crossing: New Horizons
When a series is so popular, it can be hard to maintain the standards your fans expect of you, but Nintendo has done it again with New Horizons. The Switch games lets you build your very own island, complete with furry friends. You can also visit your mates' islands online.
5. Paper Mario: The Origami King
This 2D adventure scroller harks back to the early days of Super Mario, with its arcade-style gameplay. If you fancy a supercharged blast from the past, be sure to grab a copy of The Origami King.
