The University is across the road from the beach, with beach cafes, watersports and beach volleyball. The university is a 20 minute walk to town where you'll find great nightlife, shops, restaurants, all kinds of entertainment! Has a great bus centre and train station to travel wherever you want! £1.90 doubles on a Thursday in Sin City too... Can't go wrong with Swansea.

Value for money is great as rent for student including bills can come to around 3-4k a year. Nights out are really good as we have the wind street and can always travel to Cardiff for a liveeooo night.

Everything's so cheap, especially rent but bills are pricey. The best student night is Thursday at Sincity. Come home with change from you tenner!

Swansea is the s***. Got it all. The beach, great. The sun, non-existent but it doesn't matter. Top notch uni experience.

Swansea is basically neighbours with the beach which makes the scenery very beautiful especially when the sun is out. The food here is good and very affordable when it comes to price. Although there arent as much shops, its still a very good and interesting city

I love the beach walks and the amazing sunsets/sunrises you get over the bay! The driving in the gower is amazing too.

The area is superb with beaches less than a 5 minute walk from my house. The students and locals are friendly and the overall atmosphere is brilliant. If you're moving away from home to come here, it will quickly feel like you haven't left!

This is a great city. It has everything you could need, a great city with all the shops you want and big supermarkets, good transport that goes most places and easy to access learning and sports facilities. The scenery is great from the beach to the hills and the people are all very friendly.

Great night out most nights of the week, some very decent independent restaurants as well as soon good chains, very good value for money

I don’t go out so I can’t say about the nightlife but Swansea as a city is good for anyone that doesn’t like the busyness of a big city because I was born and raised in the capital of Bulgaria where we have 9 shopping centers and 4 different types of public transport which I really miss but I love the beach. Swansea still has everything that you’d need. It’s cheap to live here

Swansea’s location honestly couldn’t be more ideal. It’s on a beach front with a town centre down the road and everything else you’ll need in walking distance.

I personally feel that Swansea is excellent as in if providing a safe, cheap and overall a good experience in all regards stated above. As a student I often go out for nightlife in Swansea Wednesday (students night) and some Saturdays where I can afford it. I do often limit the nightlife too just 2 or 3 places with pres in the Potters wheel, just outside wind street - Fiction, Jack Murphy’s and Griffin are my go too places. Food down wind street in the day is also very nice, however it’s very expensive so I rarely ever go down there. - me and my friends often opt for the nearby cheap Mac Donald’s.

I’ve lived in Swansea for almost 3 years whilst being at uni and although Swansea is a small city, it has beautiful beaches in the summer and enough places shopping and eat. Spend the day walking down to mumbles and enjoy a nice lunch in verdes or any other cute cafes in the area, or enjoy cocktails in a number of cocktail bars in the evening (2 for 1 in las iguanas). Wind street is the best night out, everything is on one street so not too much walking in heels! Entry fees aren’t too bad and everywhere has deals on drinks on a student night! Swansea has a lot to offer for such a small city. Definitely check it out if you have the chance.

Swansea is rather small town in my opinion compared to my hometown in Bulgaria. However, there are plenty of opportunities to spend your free time. Both campuses are aproximately 15 min away from the city center(with uni bus) which provides easy access. There are lots of bars, clubs and pubs and the uni buses operate 24/7 which is a great advantage and saves you lots of pounds on a night out for taxi. Also last but not least the beach is amazing!!! It was like a dream came true to be able to grab my jacket and just go to the beach for less than 10 min where I can chill and disstress from uni.I am definitely happy with my choice of town and university !

The location is pretty fucking amazing. There is the sea near by and there have been a decrease in grand Larson since my experience at UWTSD has started. Overall I would rate this 8/8 gr8 b8 m8.

A uni right next to the beach... what more can you ask for! The location is great for summer, you can have a mine break between lecture, have BBQ.

Nights out on wind street are so good. The sea being virtually right on your doorstep is so lovely and picturesque. The bay is amazing as are the walks around it. Value for money is definitely decent, as are the variety of shops and places to eat!!

Better than Cardiff.

Swansea University Bay Campus has one of the best locations out of any British Uni. Literally seconds from the beach, and just a 10-15 minute bus ride from the centre of town, there is a wide range of things you can do to occupy yourself or find help with your studies. I think that the standout feature is the ever reliable bus service, which runs almost 24 hours a day, with a bus regularly turning up more or less on your doorstep every 15 minutes.

Close to the beach and not far from the city centre. Great location for all sorts. Bay campus, although also close to the beach, is quite far out of town with nothing more than a Tesco with is very inappropriately stocked (e.g. no sandwiches but raw beef during the summer holidays (dont know what the people who work there would do for lunch!)), therefore not so ideal.

If you love the sea, Swansea is for you! Sea views from Bay Campus lecture rooms make 9ams a bit more bearable and Singleton is just a few minutes walk away from equally lovely views! If you fancy exploring on a weekend, just a bit further a field there is Bracelet Bay, Caswell Bay, Oxwich Bay - all stunning! Best of all you can make fires on the beach which is so fun and makes bonfire night here unbeatable! To top all that off the nightlife is great, Windstreet, Sin, Tooters have your Wednesday, Thursday, Friday nights sorted! Also value for money drinks and accommodation are amazing, I pay so much less than friends in Cardiff / Bristol / Bath! Downsides - it rains a lot, buy as long as you have a good coat and your sorted!
