Southampton

The location of my campus was roughly a 10 minute walk across Southampton for everybody else from the main campus; but for me with a disability that disables me from walking far distances and quickly without being in huge amounts of pain, it was difficult. Luckily across from my small building, there is a car park! But £3 for 2 hours is ridiculous, especially for a student who drives from Bournemouth already and needs to be there for at least 6 hours a day 4 days a week. The only thing I liked about the location of my campus is that it is situated LITERALLY across the road from the shopping centre, meaning we are in the center of shoppers, food and luxury; too bad I was spending so much money on travel to be able to afford even a 50p item. I’ve spent this year in debt and struggling to live so hopefully next year will be better. At the main campus however, the university refused to let me park in their car park and told me to park across Southampton in the nearest car park.. I only needed a space for an hour a week for ONE lesson but they told me to go through government and get a disability badge if I wanted to park in there meaning I’ve missed all those lessons waiting for the government to sort it out. It’s very upsetting when I can’t walk far and even with spare spaces and my education at risk, the university refuse to help. 1* this year I’m afraid and that one star represents the usefulness of being next to the shopping centre.

The city is desgusting, there are rats everywhere and when you manage to avoid them you will inevitably run into a a homeless person or someone else who will then approach you for money and cigarettes and occasionally get annoyed at you of you don't oblige.
