Highfield Hall

My experience in Highfield Halls was the best start to life at University I could possibly have had. As it was a small halls it was very easy to get to know everyone, especially with it being part-catered. The location was great as it was also the closest halls to the uni and there was always plenty going on. A great experience!

The halls are really lovely and feel really homely- definitely recommend as although it's quite a lot smaller than some of the bigger complexes, it's not set out in flats and due to having catered meals you get to know everyone! Also perfect location as right next to Avenue campus and 10 mins from highfield!

The social experience and food was good! The toilets could have been nicer but overall it’s good for the price!

The location is great because it is 2mins from avenue and 10 from highfield! There are 2 houses - Aubrey is for those sharing bathrooms and Wolfe is for those who are ensuite. The bathrooms that are shared are always clean. The meals provided are actually pretty good, if a little oily sometimes; there's usually 3 choices at dinner but only one is vegetarian so if you're veggie you may be in trouble if you're fussy! But the openness is much nicer than being confined to a flat as you can just walk anywhere.

Perfect Location, under 10 mins to far edge of campus. Great common room and small computer room. Nice gardens. Catered halls. Dated but still of high quality. Bathrooms are ok but kitchens are too small and used by too many people, though could be functional with careful management.

Think this is the smallest halls out of all the halls available but that gave it a really nice environment where everyone knew one another and it was easy to make friends. The room was cute, just the right size for one person. The location was a 10 minute walk from campus, making it easy to get to.

Amazing location close to campus, very nice old feel to the place and catered food is everything I needed in my unorganised 1st year of University. Small so you get to know everyone. Bad parts are that the furniture is old and you don't get much quiet in it.

Highfield Hall is at the optimum location - round the corner from Avenue Campus and then a further ten minutes walk to Highfield Campus (where my lectures etc have been for semester 1). It is within walking distance also to Portswood which is fantastic for nightlife and also grocery shopping. The facilities are excellent - the dining room is big, washing facilities sufficient, computers available and two printers / scanners for the deadlines and Wi-Fi etc also excellent, with few major disruptions. The social experience is probably one of the best i have encountered. All the corridors are adjoining, therefore I have been able to meet many different people within my halls easily. My room is massive, at least twice as big as any standard room, but I was lucky. The standard rooms are lovely, well heated, good storage available and well ventilated if necessary.
