Hamwic student halls are clean and tidy but not very modern. The bedrooms are small and need renovations and the kitchens are small and dirty with nowhere to eat.

Best halls ever ! Made the first year’s experience unforgettable ☺️ The staff do the best they can and it is the best. Near the university and the city center. Great access to all the shops

Not bad , slow getting maintenance as my chair and light in bathroom broke and no one came to fix it even though I had put in a request

Hamwic is a good choice as you get to meet a larger number of people due to the layout being a corridor rather than separate flats. It’s an 8 min walk from uni and close to a number of supermarkets aswell as the shops in the centre and the shopping mall. The biggest downsides are the kitchens, although they are cleaned, sharing with 10 other people isn’t fun when they don’t clear up after themselves, especially as the kitchens are so small. Having an en-suite is great however the showers are tiny so there’s not much room to move around. Rooms are a decent size though.

The halls was a great place to meet new people and definitely an experience I'd recommend. Although it can be stressful when you have deadlines around the corner if you live with rowdy flatmates, it's definitely something to try.

The Location and layout of this Halls building is perfect and the fact that you have your own bathroom compared to other halls. Although this is true the layout of the building and the lack of inspection meant that the Kitchen was unrefurbished unlike many other halls buildings and often the appliances did not work. And the feel off prison corridors did not ware off although it did have a great atmosphere at times and was a great distance from everything needed including shops, uni and takeaways all you could need as a student.

Very good halls, close to the uni so easy to roll out of bed and be at a 9am lecture in 20 under 20 minutes. Not too noisy, and all issues have been fixed extremely quickly.

The rooms could be decorated nicer, as compared to halls in other Uni’s they aren’t the best for what we’re paying.

I think Hamwic is really nice, they have all the facilities you need. It’s in a really nice location, close to town, close to the gym if you’re up for that. The rooms have everything you need in them, they are warm and the beds are comfortable enough. Bathroom is nice too. They clean the kitchen every day, make sure we recycle. The office staff are really nice, always willing to help if needed and come round making sure everything is okay once in a while. The common room is a good size, has a pool table, sky tv, vending machines and sofa area. I really enjoy living here. Everything is really nice and it’s a very fun experience.

Walls are paper thin, bathroom are awful (smells and sink of falling off wall) - mattress is quite comfy though, so that’s always good I guess

These halls are perfect for anyone moving to university. I found these halls even more comforting as I moved 270 miles away from Manchester to attend uni and the rooms are comforting and don’t make you miss home

Rooms are a nice size for you to do what you need to do in them as well as have mates over big enough to have a double blow up bed. The facilities at hand are great nice and modern and the social experience is great... meet new people pretty much everyday in hamwic and everyone who works at the help desk is very nice and helpful

The rooms were a decent size with single bed and good sized desk. The bathroom was also fine for the length of time you stay there with decent shower and toilet. Wardrobe for me was great size as there was space for clothes and storage like a suitcase. The only thing I didn't like was the kitchen - these have been renovated since, but our kitchen was awful. No oven, just a microwave oven. Poor storage space and just way too small with nowhere to sit and socialise. For the price we paid I was unhappy.
