Really good location and rooms are good size with en suite!! Some facilities aren't brilliant but are fine to cope with
Deanery is located 10 minutes away from Solent University and the city centre. Staff is helpful as well as the housekeeping ladies, who clean the communal kitchen every week. The room itself is very small en-suite. It has a one-person bed, a walk-in closet and a desk. They provide you a towel, duvet, pillow and bed sheets. The bathroom is tiny but it has all the necessities. Deanery also offers a study room which you can book for some alone time (the hall can get pretty loud and you can’t really concentrate) and a social area with vending machines, a Tv and various games.
Well first of all I would start by saying that any student looking for Accomodation please look for private Accomodation as the uni halls are quite small and you would not be able to fit in all your stuff m. The location is fine. 10 min walk from the uni. The facilities are not too bad but few members from reception are just not so welcoming.
The halls get cleaned every day except weekends for you which is a massive plus. However the rooms are tiny, which was harder for me as a keyboard player to try and fit all my equiptment in. Having an en suite was nice however the water temperature for the showers was always too hot or too cold. Constantly needed fixing.
Great location, close enough to town and uni main campus. Rooms were nice enough and helpful staff. 10 students per flat. Nothing to complain about really!
Location is very good, 10 minute walk from university. Has all facilities, common room, games, tv and laundry services which are easy to use. Staff is very friendly and are always willing to help out and sort any problems. Room is good, satisfied with it but could be improved as is very expensive. Many social activities, lots of student deals for clubs and close to accommodation.
En-suite room which is nice however makes the room extremely narrow. Socially, it's the quietest halls and a lot of people aren't up for going out etc.
Very basic room that was quite small compared to rooms in halls I looked at in other universities at open days. Had so many issues whilst living there- 2 power cuts, one which also caused flooding and an evacuation! Big silverfish problem, I was lucky enough to not have this in my own room but others in my flat did. Lifts also broke down quite often, especially in A block which can be annoying if you're on the 7th floor. Decent soundproofing from other flats and outside but you can hear everything in your own flat. Dave was a great security guard.
Kitchen cleaners everyday is life saver and great kitchen facilities too. Rooms good size with a good sized desk and bathroom. Location excellent to uni and town.
Cleaners in kitchen everyday is a lifesaver, facilities in kitchen good too. Room a good size, with good sized desks and cupboard space. Execellent location to uni and the town and clubs all within walking distance.
It was the best decision i ever made to live in halls. Deanery halls is perfect for me because its near the town centre, our rooms have en suites and ive made so many friends for life since living here who i wouldnt of met on my course.
Deanery is a great location for first years at Solent University, it allows you meet plenty of new friends aswell as having good security to keep you safe n stop things getting too out of hand. It’s good value for money with every room having an ensuit which I think is a must when your not sure who your going to be sharing with. The kitchens on the top 2 floors are particularly nice and the location is just a short walk to the city centre.
Its called Deanery not beanery. The halls was fun very and very well taken care of. The facilities were great tv, snooker table, table tennis, couches to chill, smoking area etc. Can easily make friends everyone is all warming and welcoming. Rooms are a good size and have everything you need for a ensuite.
Great experience. Met friends for life. Rooms where a decent size with an en suite and kitcheb was spacious. Night life was exellect however the course i took wasnt for me and ended up leaving after 2 months
Over priced for what you actually get but still a nice place to live and is good is you like being social. Cleaners are proper loud and always wake you up in the morning and security are a bit invasive apart from Dave.
The accomodation is nice, security can be quite invasive apart from Dave, he’s lovely. The room is spacey.
The halls are very close to university (10 minutes walk). There’s an everyday cleaning service in the communal kitchen which you share with other 9 people so it sometimes gets messy. You have to take care of your own room but they provide a vacuum cleaner. The en-suite room is small but it’s enough for a person.
The halls called Deanery, but might as well be called beanery cause I feel like a bean paying for this place! It’s within walking distance to everything in town, there’s no need to use busses. The rooms themselves are pretty small, but bareable. The bathroom again small but bareable. The whole place feels kinda old and run down. For most of the year the bottom hinge on the kitchen door has been broken, no locks on the bathrooms are broken, most of the locking systems in the kitchen cupboards are broken. Nice social areas. For the social side living in halls for the first year is the way to go about meeting new people.
the facilities could be improved in the room- needs new carpet and shower. kitchen is very nice however.
Deanery* great flat size and living space. Social halls. Cleaners everyday. Most expensive halls for solent uni but worth it.
Overall the accommodation is good however I do not feel it is good value for money. The rooms are tiny and there are many faults e.g. broken locks that even after being reported for weeks do not get fixed.
good location, maintenance is slow if things break for the money we pay on rent, otherwise clean and decent sized
The showers never worked properly, quite annoying if in the third block as there is no easy exit so it takes you 5 minutes to just leave the building. Very nice social areas.
