The rooms in The Forge are spacious and clean, the beds are comfortable and there is plenty of desk space. The kitchen appliances all function well and the onsite facilities such as gym and laundry room make living there easier.

Amazing location. The best halls for social life. The furniture in the lounge area was a bit outdated. Very friendly staff in reception.

It was close to uni so that was nice! It had nice facilities within the halls: gym, pool table and a table tennis, it had a Social area but no one really used it. Washing and dryer was expensive and it could be included in the price of the rent. They had a cleaner that didn't really clean and the door handles would break

Great location near the both campuses and city centre. Facilities are good, ok sized rooms and bathrooms. Kitchens get cleaned every 2 weeks which is nice. Social experience is good as there's always people around as it's so big but can be loud sometimes but it's not too bad. Room temperate can vary as found it's very cold sometimes so defo invest in your own heater

The location is good for getting to uni and there are lots of shops close by. The washing machines always break and the printers don't work but other than that it's a nice place to live

loud most of the time and the noise complaints didn't do anything. we had a leak a lot of the time the rooms were quite spacious

The forge is a great place to live whether you are a fresher or 2nd/3rd year. The staff are super friendly and the accommodation is well kept. It is really secure and with aldi next door it is conveniently located. It is also only a few minutes from The Moor and 15 minute walk from both campuses

Great accommodation. Perfect for meeting new people. Great for social life. The gym facilities are ideal only a short walk from each flat. On suite bathrooms. Rooms are a decent size and the kitchen living room area are great.

The forge is good for socialising with different people, it is nice and central for either city or colligeate student which is useful. London Road is situated next to the forge and has loads of lovely restaurants!

Amazing halls to live at, if you're going SHU definitely choose the Forge! I had a large room and it was really nice, cus the desk was huge which came in handy and the bed was a 3/4 but it felt like a double anyway. It's prime location , cus it's not far from town and it's directly in between city and collegiate campus, and the good thing about it is all the blocks face onto a big grassy courtyard. So when it's hot we all had bbq's down there and played with a ball and stuff. The reception were good and pretty handy and as well it's really easy to get to know people in your block.

Nothing works it's a hell hole here. I feel like i'm in a prison, basic necessities aren't even met, my shower didn't work at all for 5 days and it took them 5 days to come and fix it. Our windows in our flat bedrooms have gaps in between the seal so all noise gets in. Oh and may I Add there is a construction site less than 1 metre away from my flat. You would think that they'd ensure safe window that don't allow noise in or allow heat to escape. It's a safety hazard in cases of a fire. The list could go on.

It is in a really convenient location with only being a 12 minute walk from city campus, the facilities are good the gym is useful, the room has lots of storage space and the social side is good but it is very noisy of a night and compared to the modern layout of the elements it isn't as good being the same price

The location was amazing for both university and nights out! Felt safe living there and no problem was ever too big. I requested a new mattress as mine was uncomfortable and I got a new one in a couple of days

Absolutely loved living in the forge, always a lively place with people around, would recommend to anyone nice social areas and rooms!

The forge provides a decent sized room with a modern-styled kitchen. Everyone seems to know each other here and has more of a community vibe than the other accommodations I've visited. The security are always willing to help you out and have a chat, and the receptionists are lovely and try their best to get to know you as individuals. So far it's been great here.

The location is good because it is across the way from Aldi and is situated between the city and collegiate campus. The city centre is only a 15 minute walk away which is also useful. The facilities are ok. I have had issues in my flat they have been more or less fixed now. The social experience has been good because it has been easy to talk and make friends to people, especially in my flat. Due to the large size of the forge, it has also been easy to make more friends. The room is a good size.

The forge is an okay halls of residence, most of the people in your blocks do similar subjects at uni so you can meet a lot of people and the location and nightlife is excellent. however, we had a few issues at the start in our block such as no hot water, then no water in general and showers not working, appliances breaking, etc. But with it being the biggest accommodation I can understand why it would be harder to fix all the problems as soon as possible with them only having a small maintenance team. For your first year the forge is a good accommodation for meeting people and going out, I'm personally unsure whether I'd recommend living here to anyone because of the issues we've had in our flat. However, the other blocks surrounding the main reception seem to have had little to no issues!

The location is ideal for walking into university, close to many pubs and is right next to Aldi! The facilities are great and clean

Honestly love living here, made friends instantly and the staff are so lovely definitely coming back next term

Location is in between both universities. The flats have cleaners every week. Friendly environment where you can go out with all your neighbours. Cosy bedrooms.

The Forge is a great place to start the uni experience, the flat I was placed in was a flat of 5 which I think was the perfect amount of people to live with for the first time (I know some halls have 8-10), the location was good and I felt safe

The most social place to go and ideal for first years! It does get rowdy at times but that’s part of the fun if you’re into going out!

Amazing halls to get involved in having the best university experience! Party central, and I`m gutted that I`ll be moving on, however, I`ve made friends for life who will move on with me :) !

Modern, reasonably priced halls. The forge is in an ideal location in between the two campuses and with close shops. The rooms are spacious with a 3/4 bed. The Forge itself are a little slow when it comes to fixing things for example our fridge took 3 weeks before we got a new one.
