Portsmouth has everything! The nightlife, shops, history, restaurants etc. And all in walking distance from each other and the university. The town is always buzzing with something happening and it’s just a really great atmosphere.

Everything is within walking distance and so is easy to get to. All the clubs are along one strip which are all nearby the student accommodation which is great for first year. The beach is never too far away either and is a great place to visit.

I have nothing bad to say about Portsmouth, everything is within walking distance, especially if you live in Halls. To me it's like a much smaller version of London just without the underground.

Portsmouth overall is a great value for money area with everything within a good distance and plenty of student offers availability.

It's student city during term times making you feel at home with the constant interaction with people like yourself.Having the uni so close to the seafront is a great way to chill out. A great seaside town, with a fantastic skyview. Lots of places to go shopping, either in Gunwharf or in town. Lovely area in old portsmouth, and great spot at Southsea common, but can be some rough areas.

Portsmouth University's campus is the city. All accommodation and uni buildings are surrounded by grocery shops and is far away from a high street full of shops or the popular shopping area "Gunwharf quays". It's based along the south coast with beautiful views and hovercrafts/ferries to and from the Isle of White. In addition to this there is a wide variety of choice for nights out as there are 5 main clubs near the centre of the university sites and accommodation. It's a safe place as areas are well lit.

Portsmouth is a great historic city well known for its navy base and football club. There is a vast amount of things to do varying from shopping to riding the rollercoaster on the seafront. There is a large outlet shopping centre in Gunwharf Quays that contains a lot of shops and restaurants.

Portsmouth is my home town so being able to come to university here allows me to stay close to family and friends. There is plenty to do here such as nightlife, history, lots of restaurants and cafes ideal places for socialising. Portsmouth is a small city so it makes it very easy for students to be able to get to places, there are trains and buses which run frequently. The university itself is located in the city centre which again is easily accessible to all of its students. For the course I am currently studying the facilities are amazing, and helps to providing the best possible education along with increasing skill. There are many services available to help students will all that they may require such as housing and finance, health and well-being, learning support and so on. Overall it is a fantastic university in a great location.

Portsmouth is a great city. Plenty of pubs and clubs with different vibes so there is something for everyone. There's also a shopping centre and gunwharf so whether you want something cheap from primark or designer from Ralph Lauren, Portsmouth is the city for you! Porta was voted one of the most affordable student cities

The University of Portsmouth is in a great location, especially when you live in the halls. Not only are practically all the uni buildings close by, but the nightclubs are all really close by as well as loads of food shops and the general shopping area. Plus Gunwarf Quays is so close by which is great. Having the seaside only a 15min walk away means it's great to just take a walk and chill by the seafront. It's an amazing location in my opinion.

Everything is so close by you can walk it. The beach is ten minutes away, gunwalf is ten minutes away and the university is just a five minute walk away. If you want to get a taxi it's really cheap as well. The clubs are really close too, for all the girls wearing high heals its a nice easy walk.

The city is really compact, everything useful is really close together so it's useful. There's loads of bars, pubs and clubs with loads of variety in terms of themes of nights out.
