Bournemouth has plenty of things to do including the beach, clubs, cocktail bars as well as more unusual things like the aquarium. It’s a great place to live with lots of good places to eat.

Poole harbour has a great range of pubs, particularly the gin bar. It is great for the arts, with the Poole Lighthouse arts centre located in the centre of town, which offers a wealth of art forms. The Dolphin Centre is a shopping complex with most high street stores, and also features a climbing centre. Bus services are very reliable around the area.

If you live on campus, you may struggle to enjoy the nightlife as your destination is around 2 miles away. Taxis are your friends though and we even have Uber here! If you live in halls though, every night is magical. You're I'll always see a group of people ready for an exciting night out. It's a short walk down a hill to the clubs so if you're not a night person, you won't have to worry about the loud noise from them. Personally, I live near the town centre so I do live a distance away from the university however there are frequent busses which are super cheap (compared to where I came from) or if you're a cyclist, it's a straight stretch and there are tonnes of bike compounds fitted with bike repair kits! Again, like me, you live close to everything so shopping is never a hassle. It's a 10 minute walk to either ASDA or Lidl, wherever you prefer to shop so you can save money where you need to. If you live in a place like Winton however, you have an Aldi and a poundland (as well as various independent stores) and it's only a short walk to the university. Most people consider living there in their second year so I'd definitely recommend it! I just prefer near the town as you have BH2 so I can pop to the cinema when I like to.

Food by the quay is superb. Best location for Relaxing walks by it and in Talbot woods. Friendly people and welcoming community.

It's gorgeous here. Perfect for outdoor people, with the beach right on our doorstep. Shopping and eating out options, there's pretty much all you could want. Transport is absolutely handy and very reliable on busses and taxis if needed. No need for a car at all. I love it here, and really did settle in quick.

Poole is the largest town for both AUB and Bournemouth University students with freshers living by the beach in Bournemouth and Student mainly in Winton, Charminster and Wallisdown areas. There is plenty of nightlife and shopping locations for any budget, with Lidl and cheap student nights out in abundance. The beach is one of the greatest benefits in the summer, stretchin 7 miles from Christchurch to Sandbanks and attracting thousands of tourists. Poole harbour is also a little gem not many people make use of but overall Poole/Bournemouth has everything a student would require! Also there are multimillion pound developments on over 20 sites in the process so in the coming years expect it to get even better!

Bournemouth wasn't on the list so I checked Poole. Great location, amazing being by the beach. Not much on offer in terms of nightlife unfortunately. Unless you like bassline or chart music.

Great clubs, good amount of restaurants and pubs. Can be a bit pricey though. Lots of things to do from season to season. in the summer there is the air show and in the winter there is the christmas market and outdoor ice rink.

Nights out are good for most people, 7-8 different clubs, each with different genres and themes, most have a weekly theme day so it’s extra entertainment, lots of supermarkets about, lots of things to do, but it is quite expensive relatively.

Poole Harbour and surrounding area are some of the nicest areas in the UK. The beaches in the area os Sandbanks are clean and safe for children. To see the beauty of the harbour you must take one of the many boat trips that take you around the islands within the harbour.
