Nights out in Poole are limited to going out in Bournemouth unless you fancy a pub grub and drinks. There are a few great places to eat, not many but actually great. Shopping is generally rather sparse but close to public transport and parking, for a shopping centre day out - go to Southampton, other daily needs are satisfied. Value for money? On rented accommodation - it's expensive, not to even mention all the troubles you might get when renting at the letting agencies. Poole Quay is a lovely place for a walk, with many events throughout the year, the light festival or Quay for my car. Abundance of gyms and little high street shops dotted around the town. There is a 13/14th century wall with a cute gate and a few architecturally significant town buildings. Not perfect for cycling around unless you want to exercise the hill rise, the hills are unavoidable. Easy access to Bournemouth with double the features of Poole.

Smalll nice town, nice place to walk around and quiet beaches, I have friends there so i visit it very often, I live in london so any time that I can go and see the sea it’s welcomed

Poole has got a big bus station with several routes available on it meaning that transport is well thought out due to the wide choice you have. The main station is also located near the train station, and the high street. There are many fast food places on the highstreet like taco Bell, McDonald's etc as well as a range of pubs and restaurants. Overall people are very friendly, there's more to do in the summer though!

I'm reviewing Bournemouth not Poole as it's not on the list and Poole is dead. Bournemouth has pretty good nights out (different club nights each day of the week, halo Monday, toast Tuesday, cameo Wednesday, lost Thursday, anything Friday and Saturday, snakebite Sunday)

Incredible nightlife, people travel from London just to experience the clubbing scene here in Bournemouth. The beach is like no other, even during the winter, a windy walk along the pier and a view over the tumbling ocean. There are restaurants of every variety, you'll never be short of choice.

Not an area for students, but poole offers a good casual night out - specially down by Poole harbour. Plenty of pubs, bars and restaurants with a scenic view. Poole has the Dolphin shopping centre where it is home to many high street shops such as river island, miss selfridge, pandora, JD sport etc. Poole town highstreet has a vast selection of different charity shops, bakeries, cafes and other shops. It has done well in preserving the historic look of the town. In walking distance of Poole town are big supermarkets such as Asda, Sainsburys, Aldi and Tesco express which is on the harbour, which is very convenient. Poole harbour is a great place to go for a brisk walk, run or even just a place to relax - specially on a sunny day! Sandbanks is only a few minutes drive away and is the area where famous footballers live! Sandbanks beach has golden sands and nice blue water.

Poole is a small town with a range of different facilities and activities. Poole has a number of different food establishments offering a range of meals, most at a good cost. There is a variety of shops down the high street as well as in the Dolphin Shopping Centre. Poole Quay is a beautiful place for a walk and a coffee.

There's good shopping but could do with more bigger brands. The food is good but again in the town centre could be McDonald's Pizza Hut, we should also have a cinema and a bowling alley and a skate rink

The birthplace of LUSH, the home of Sunseeker, the doorway to the rest of the world. Poole is a charming seaside town, and especially to be recommended is Sandbanks beach , the perfect mix of luxury living and natural beauty. The town itself is full of cute independent cafés as well as well-known chains, such as Caffè Nero and Pizza Express, and the Dolphin Shopping Centre has a multitude of great shops. The old quay has a wonderful atmosphere, with some lovely pubs, bars and restaurants that overlook the harbour and Brownsea Islabd , a National Trust gem only a boat ride away! Easily accessible by train, Poole is a town for any and for all.

Some areas are nice. However some are slightly rough and should be careful around. Lots of bus routes to get to places with most places having more than 1 route. Lota of shopping and bournemouth has a great number of pubs, clubs and bars

Bournemouth has the best of both, city life and the countryside. The beaches are compared to those in Miami - so cool. The people are friendly and there are events for everyone throughout the year. The air show is coming up which is the highlight.

Bournemouth is good for entertainment as the high street has a large area filled with all of the usual high street shops plus a large area filled with restaurants. The nightlife has a mix for all types of people plus it is in the perfect location on the beach!

With 7 miles of golden sand, and a city centre, you really do have the best of both worlds. From zip lining to mini golf, the oceanarium to shopping 'til you drop or fancy bars to insane club nights out, Bournemouth is the best student centre.

Great clubs, bars and pubs in town with different types of crowd and music. There are great variety of restaurant and different types of international foods. You can find all main big stores in the centre too.

Bournemouth is hands down one of the best university’s for location! The first obvious thing about the location is the beach - rated in the TOP 5 beaches in Europe! There’s nothing better than grabbing an ice cream on a hot day or sitting outside Aruba overlooking the beach with a cocktail in your hand. Bournemouth also have really cute gardens as well as a fantastic shopping area in town as well as at Castlepoint. The nightlife is great with plenty of different options for everyone. Cameo is a firm favourite with student nights on a Wednesday as well as Halo Monday. The old fire station is the student union club and is the first home of Foreverland which is a spectacular event now all over the UK!! All in all bournemouth is an amazing area with plenty of things to do overall the value for money is definitely worthwhile and is actually cheaper than other university areas.

Poole is known for their Poole harbour and they have sandy beaches. The nightlife is good in Poole and they have clubs such as cameo in Bournemouth which are only a 10 mins car journey. They have a splashdown water park which also has restaurants such as Nando’s. Has a Poole stadium greyhound racing which I enjoy for the atmosphere and the betting. The wildlife is good value for money as their is a lot of wildlife and parks in Poole. Sandbanks beach is value for money as it’s free and the fish and chips on the beach are tasty. Durdle door is on pooles doorstep and is value for money if you are into trekking.

A number of shops are empty, creating an impression that the town is on its way down. But brilliant location next to the sea and warm. Plenty to do in the evenings and lots of places to eat. A great place to go.

Poole/Bournemouth is in a lovely location. Everything is on your door step, from the Sandy beach to the club's and bars. Good restaurants with reasonably priced menus and plenty of takeaway options. Transport is very regular so using a car is not a necessity.

My rating is more on Bournemouth as I went to Bournemouth University, however, it is technically located in Poole. Nights out are great, there’s Lollipop & Cameo as the biggest night clubs, with Revolution & other bars available. There’s a club night with student offers most days of the week, Lost Paradise Mondays, Toast Tuesdays, Cameo Wednesdays, Applebum Thursdays, Lollipop Fridays & Snakebite Sundays! Saturdays are the most expensive to go out & older people often join so wouldn’t recommend. Shopping is great, lots of choice in town with a shopping centre in Poole too. Food is good with plenty of student friendly places- tastebuds is great in Winton for breakfast, Waga’s for lunch & The Stables for dinner. Also there’s plenty of dessert places with the fave being Sprinkles! (Try the cookie dough)
