The staff are disorganised and occasionally rude. Faults and fixes are not attended to quickly and there is little communication

Cranborne has seen me make many friendships that will last, although my flat has been robbed and my belongings have not be financially replaced. Safety is an issue at cranborne and the staff don't care to help much.

Dirty, rats everywhere, homeless people come on our property. Always loud, LOTS of building work going on so can’t sleep. My room literally vibrates. Res Life isn’t good. Heating isn’t good, never on and when it is on it is never that hot to heat up the room. Shower is like knives and very hot and cold - bipolar. Rats common in smoking area, constant fire alarms due to poor ventilation in kitchens, but 24/7 reception and enthusiastic res life team are advantages

When I arrived the room was not gully cleaned. I have never seen a cleaner which you supoosedly get within your rent. Lots of rats running around the smoking area and creckheads looking for cigarret butts (there is a homeless shelter a minute away from the halls). Moreover, things break and it takes ages for them to fix it (have very few contractists for all of the halls). If it wasn for the social life (500 people live there), the free bus, location, and stuff, I would have even rated it with one star.

Good location, rooms average size, kitchen ok. Some flats have a different (and worse layout) which I ended up on the bad end. Despite paying the same some flats are bigger and the room sizes vary. Had issue with clear bugs coming out of drains. Maintenance is poor (took 9 days to fix a oven, no hob or grill. Called a specialist only to clarify it was the oven fuse not the actual oven)! Got charged for items that were missing from the inventory in my room despite not having it to begin with and raising this issue when moving in. My bed also was very uncomfortable and when compared to my flat mates my mattress was very thin and old (bottomed out when sitting on it and I’m only 70kg!). Wish I lived somewhere else.
