Chancellors Court

The location of the halls I stayed in was very central to the campus, everything I needed was just a short walk away including all my lectures and the shops, library and gym. I had a very good experience in halls, they were very modern, clean and safe. My room had brilliant facilities, my own bathroom, tv/computer and mini fridge. It was a very spacious, comfortable and modern room I would recommend to anybody. As for the shared living spaces, the kitchen was an okay size, we found there could have been bigger fridges/freezers considering there were 8 of us sharing however we did manage. The living area didn’t have a very social feel we had noticed a lot of similar accommodation had couches but we only had a big kitchen table which mean not a lot of social meetings would happen in there.

Facilities and location were amazing. The social side of it was very poor - little to no full hall activities

Kitchen and living areas are above average standard and the uni is one of the few which still have cleaners however perhaps not necessary as areas are kept clean anyway. Only issue would be a few broken and damaged parts in rooms such as chipped toilets, missing skirting board etc internet is fast but many services are restricted/blocked

the room is big and spacious, and it good to have a stacking bed for guests. the bathroom is cleaned regularly. the pantry is cleanish but the bins are regularly taken out. some of the furniture in my rooms quite badly stained and the desk lights do not work well. the Wi-Fi does not stretch to my room so I have to plug it in to an Ethernet cable

Overall my experience was pretty solid, but it was difficult at first to break into a friend group as most of the students in chancellor's knew each other. Absorb was great, but always freezing. The pantry's were also useful though it would be nice to have a stovetop or something other than a microwave to cook in as lunches are not provided as part of the meal plan. The rooms were great though, especially the double beds. The only problem were the purchased sheets. The fitted sheet you'd spend half the day trying to get them on the bed as they were always too small. Also girls got pink and boys got blue sheets! A bit stereotypical in my opinion. I do wish there was a bus from the halls to George and Kings. Overall great experience but glad to be in a flat now!

Chancellors court has been great so far, it is located only a 15 minutes walk from the university so is very accessible and the place itself is always clean, secure and well maintained. It has been so sociable and friendly since day 1 and feels like a home away from home.

Edge hills accommodation is beautiful, spacious and extremely well kept. Cleaners are amazing and friendly. The rooms are very modern and contemporary. Can't fault the accommodation at edge hill.

Nice and modern, good size rooms and kitchens. Maintaince and cleaner supplied by the uni, always warm and well heated. Would be nice if there was a double bed, wet rooms pretty basic.

State of the art accommodation and I didn’t even stay in the newest halls on campus! Definitely better than expectations. Edge Hill University does so much to assist their their students and to try and allow their students to feel comfortable and relaxed at all times. Everything you need is in your hall with a fantastic kitchen, dining area and the rooms are also better than advertised in my opinion. The social experience is fantastic as there is a shared kitchen and dining area allowing you to come back ‘home’ after lectures, and enjoy a meal with atleast one if not all of your flat mates. I was in an en-suite room which I found to be amazing as I had my own shower, sink and toilet! The halls are located on the campus so you are never more than 10 minutes away from anything you need university related.

The rooms are amazing and cheap for the price you pay. Everything on campus is easily accessible therefore no issues being late to lectures. Beautiful scenery and kitchens that are modern. The only downfall is the students you may get put with - it can be very very loud - however this is not the universities fault! Overall 4/5.

The halls are some of the most affordable in the country, even for the nicest rooms, I paid £109 per week for a private bathroom, bedroom with a computer and mini fridge and a cleaner. You get a student assistant who keeps everyone up to date on events so the social side is good. They’re also really good about swapping your halls if you don’t get on with your flat mates.

Good modern style for a reasonable price. However, there was no seating area apart from the dining chairs and you have a wet room instead of a closed shower so the shower curtain just sticks to you.

Best accommodation I’ve seen so far. Couldn’t ask for anything better. It has everything you need from ensuite to a tv. However the cupboard and wardrobe space is limited that is the only negative I have

The rooms are a decent size but the people around you don't care how loud they're being. 3am blasting music when drunk isn't the best for people around them as it can wake you up when you have a 9am lecture.

The location of my halls isn’t the best 🙄 as it’s situated outside the gym; think I’d have motivation to go because of that? HA! No! My room is great, ensuite bathroom all the way! I absolutely love it, it’s my own place where I can... procrastinate 😂

The facilities in the room are great, a tv mounted on the wall acts as a computer compatible with campus WiFi. The bathroom is a little small with a shower area cornered off by a curtain. But all bathroom necessities are included. There’s lots of storage space, a wardrobe shelves under the bed space. A large kitchen area is great which includes a set of lockable food cupboards for each room. A mini fridge is set inside the wardrobe for any valuble food items you may feel should be kept away from greedy flat mates. The overall experience is very welcoming and easy to settle in straight away. It feels like your own home not just a hotel stay for 9 months. Furthermore it’s very compatable for individuals with disabilities for example automatic doors and a lowered sinks.

Facilities was really nice! Is a shame about the block I was put in as the people weren’t very nice nor that respectful

The halls themselves were nice and the bedrooms had en-suites which was really good as I had anxiety about sharing a bathroom, there were eight rooms per hall and 2 halls on each of the three levels so quite a lot of us, initially we all got on well but then I started to have problems with a few of the girls on the floor below me and this escalated into a bit of bullying and being left out a lot. The location was both good and bad as it was right at the end of campus so close it was close to the gym and car park however it was about a fifteen minute walk to the building my seminars were held in.

With an ensuite and massive living spaces, my accommodation is actually cheaper than friends at different universities who have not so big kitchens and shared bathrooms. So you are getting great value for money. It’s also a very social hall so if you want to go into university meeting loads of new people and maybe going out a bit then these halls are perfect. My room even have its own mini fridge provided by the university which is my favourite thing. It’s the furthest set of buildings from ormskirk town centre as chancellors court is the far east of campus which can sometimes be annoying but, if you go to the gym then that is basically on your doorstep.

I had a great time in halls. The facilities were of a very high standard compared with other uni’s I have visited. The cleaner that came every day was a really nice extra. The price was also very reasonable.

Great location on the campus and all the stuff you could ever need for student life. Highly recommended considering these rooms are the standard, if a little expensive in the grand scheme of things.

At EHU I found the halls great value for money! For £115pw I had a nice large ensuite room that had a PC/TV free to use. The only disadvantage of Chancellors court is that the walls are thin and you can hear other flats. But its a very convenient location, cheap and right next to the gym!

The halls are good, they are full of fun people who love to go out and get smashed, all ket heads and love a good time. Guarantee to find a flat party every night.

The accommodation at Edge Hill is so modern and fresh, it brings a whole new definition and expectations to university accommodation. No wonder it won Accommodation of the Year!
