I was lucky with my room location as rarely were there too many people in the kitchen, however, I know many who struggled sharing a kitchen with 13 other people which is a little ridiculous when it can only hold 2 people comfortably. Those who got a smaller room got a nicer view and those who got a larger room on the other side had to listen to the traffic outside, and there were a lot of sirens which is to be expected. There was a decent attempt at hall activities but it could have been better.

Melton hall is in a quiet area, good for post grad students. The rooms are a good size, you either have a larger room facing the car park or a smaller room with a small balcony overlooking the lake. There are common rooms on every floor (there’s 3 floors) with one for study purposes. The primary issue are the kitchens which are shared by around 13 people which can make meal times difficult sometimes.
