The staff at this accommodation are lovely and will always help you when they can. Its handy having security and reception on site as if you have any issues you do not need to mess around to find the correct people to fix it. The cleaner comes every Thursday and clean all the communal areas, the only issue is that sometimes they take a little while which makes it a struggle to be able to eat before having to go into university. I live on the ground floor and it isn't noisy with footsteps just music being played, not always from out accommodation, usually it's from south and you can hear most conversations as the windows are thin.

Location wise, the halls is a roll out of bed from your lectures if you are at the City Campus for your classes. Having two of the other biggest NTU accommodations right next to Gill Street North (Gill Street South and Byron) makes sure there’s always opportunity for socialising with people not in immediate proximity. In first year went over to Byron constantly for it’s pre drinks. In the summer, the Arboretum is a stones throw away and became the place to chill out with drinks and a football for all the students after lectures. In terms of living quality, my room and flat were well equipped with all of the utilities and having your own en suite bathroom is a luxury that I wish I could have back now. Can’t fault the room and flat, although it doesn’t look at modern as Byron or Gill Street North, it’s not bad at all. Only downside to the whole experience is knowing that you’re paying what is a premium compared to the other options that are fun but in some terms shabby.

My freshers experience in general was amazing! Gill street north was in the perfect location, surrounded by lots of other halls and students, city centre a 5/10 minute walk away. Trents student union is literally a 2 minute walk away from GSN so always felt safe getting to and from nights out even on the odd occasion if I was alone. I couldn't have wished for a better block full of a bunch of lovely people, going home over Xmas and summer felt really lonely as at GSN I'd made such good friends. Overall my experience at Gill Street North was amazing, wouldn't change a thing and have had some great experiences with friends for life!

Decent size room and en-suite and kitchen but is quite dated and small for what your paying. The reception staff are nice but they don't do much really; anyone can just wonder into the accommodation it they know the code

The location is perfect, right by the city centre as well as the uni buildings! So clean and everything works, my room is big enough and homely.

Good social experience as you share with a lot of people, social space is nice and bump into a lot of people in courtyard. No tv in kitchen however not a huge issue. Rooms are single beds but is fine and rooms are good size. Bathroom is a shower room which I'm not a fan of however you get used to it.

Room was small but functional, location was great, but the common areas were poor. Outdoor space was minimal, no indoor communal areas other than your own kitchen which tended to be boiling hot if anyone had been cooking in there or during the summer.

Amazing because it was so close to uni and the night life! Cozy and comfortable room, decent size, basic kitchen, nice ensuite. I lived on the top floor, so it was quiet and I only had one neighbor. Only problem was mess in the kitchen from other flat mates and the noise from other flats who were going out. Can’t complain, miss living in town, next to uni. Thought it was expensive for what it was though.

In an ideal city centre location that’s also very close to the university, yet the halls are still very secure. The rooms and kitchen are fairly modern, but the small rooms and single bed is the main drawback and for £140 a week you’d get much better value for money in private halls.

the uni accommodation itself is only about 5mins walks to and from my uni buildings. the halls have the bare minimums for students but it would be better if it has an actual socialising area instead of a little dining table as the ‘communal area’

Location is fantastic! Facilities are okay. Social experience is extremely limited. My room is nice but not very homely or spacious. Staff are super friendly and attentive.

Brilliant first year halls. Couldn't ask for a better choice. reasonably priced and great location. Made friends easily and living with them now in our own apartment. Highly recommend gill street north.

The rooms are awful, not modern at all. We don’t even have an oven in the studio rooms (even though we pay the most), there is no lift so coming all the way up to the top floor where the studio rooms are with shopping is exhausting. The bathrooms look like something out of a prison. Also the electricity caused the fridges to stop working one day so all our food was ruined, the uni refused to pay for the food.

Perfect location, very central and feels very safe. Rooms are very clean and often get complimented on them. Staff are friendly and helpful. Little noisy sometimes but that’s expected of a popular accommodation so nothing to worry about.

Literally the only good thing about this accommodation is the proximity to NTU. There is no social life past Freshers, no common rooms and abysmal facilities overall. There are around 5-6 washers and dryers for the 300+ people that live here. It is horrible value for money. £145 a week for what is essentially a small box room with a cabin toilet. And the walls are paper thin so you can here every little thing.

I didn’t have a lift and had to walk up 28 flights of stairs and a massive hill to get to my flat which was an issue considering I have diabetes. However this is out of their control so not too bad. However my heating was broken for half a year. Flat was so hot in December that I couldn’t sleep! Shower was freezing too. We didn’t have much social space apart from a table and chairs in the kitchen (3 chairs for 6 people though!)

Amazing staff. 24/7 security. Modern kitchens and ample washing facilities. 5 minutes away from uni and 10 mins away from the city centre.

Amazing location, mix of people and price. Met some of my best friends to date. Great courtyard in the middle for socialising too! 10/10 recommend!

Room was a nice size, however the fact that some flats were recently l refurbished and some weren't, and were the same price, was a luck of the draw thing and slightly unfair. Also the maintenence team often didn't take complaints seriously, taking us 3 months to get a new fridge that had been broken from the start. The room was large but the kitchen was stuffy; locks on the windows were ill thought through in the design as the windows could only open a crack. Great location. Stupidly small about of washing machines for such a huge block of students (4 for the whole halls, and most of the time some weren't working) Also a lot of stairs to climb if you're on the top floor!

The accommodation was amazing! No complaints at all. Location was phenomenal, right near the university and the city centre. It was extremely sociable, within the first week my flat were friends with all the rest in the block! The flats and bedrooms were a really good size with a nice large desk for me to work on and a pinboard to pin important things! Overall the accommodation was fantastic and I would highly recommend it to anyone. There was a vending machine in the courtyard and washing/ dryer facilities a short walk from my flat! The staff who were at the halls were extremely friendly and helpful in every way possible.
