local shops are a perfect balance of affordable and good quality. so much choice of places to go on nights out as well as places to eat and drink. the size of the city is perfect as although it is inclusive of all the shops you could want, everything is within walking distance. Newcastle is my favourite city.

Probably the cheapest place in the country to live as a student - metro, taxis and a high uber population provide good transport links and everything you could need is within easy reach. The centre centre has plenty of shopping opportunities and if you need more then metro centre is just a short car or bus ride away. Nightlife is always active and caters to all, especially considering it’s the only city to offer drinks for prices no student can argue with.

Newcastle Univeristy campus is located right in the centre of Newcastle. It is a few minutes walk to the main shopping street, Northumberland Street, Elsdon Square Shopping Centre and the metro, bus and railway stations so getting to and from Univeristy, the city and the rest of the region, as well as the rest of the country and beyond is extremely easy. Although being based in the heart of the city the univeristy campus has a very friendly and close knit feel where you feel at ease, not overwhelmed. The location makes every part of univeristy life easy, from attending lectures and seminars, to grabbing lunch or dinner, to the wide array of pubs, bars and clubs you could head to with your uni mates. Newcastle is a fun, affordable and friendly city which caters for all aspects of student life in abundance and the univeristy campus is at the heart of it!

Affordable, fun, and full of down to earth people who just want a good time. Consistently named top student city for nightlife and so many places to shop, eat, and go out for affordable prices. Dance and alternative theater scene is great: visit Live Theatre, The Northern Stage, Alphabetti Theatre Company or Dance City Newcastle to support local theatre and enjoy a dose of culture at reasonable prices.

Newcastle university is in a fantastic location as the university is pretty much in the town centre (5min walk to it). The campus is also not spread out all over Newcastle so all of your classes are within walking distance (unless you live miles away).

Newcastle is a very good town, you can sit by the river. Newcastle university is also very close to the town centre so if you want to go shopping during lunchtime you can do so

Newcastle is a great place to go study and get the full university experience. It is brilliant for the nightlife with several student nights with really good discount on drinks and always very busy with other students. Loads of places to go eat for any budget and a good shopping centre and the metro centre is just a train ride away.

Even though Newcastle is a relatively big city, it doesn't feel like a crappy northern version of New York like Manchester does. There is a bit of everything here: the city with a charming small-town vibe, the seaside a metro ride away, parks, cafes, you name it, it's bound to be close.

Great location of the uni being right in city centre. Only a 2 minutes walk to the centre where there is a variety of food and clothes stores that will satisfy and needs you have.

Newcastle is a vibrant city, day and night. From restaurants, bars and clubs to parks and fields, Newcastle has something for everyone. As well as the Moors in the north of the city, the quayside is a lovely place for a stroll and a pint.

Tell me Newcastle wasn’t your best night out and I’ll tell you you’re lying. From events every night if the week to a kebab from munchies after! I’ve been here for 4 years and I wouldn’t change it for the world. Newcastle you have my heart ❣

I think its one of the best cities in the UK to live in aa student since it provides value for money. The housing is cheap, the food is and going out even cheaper, its the perfect city for a student still wanting to live in a city like an environment and still afford to go out

The nights out are class, location to get around the country is also easy with a local airport and train station on the main line. Everyone is also very friendly.

Newcastle is a great place for students to be in. A relatively small city but full of hustle and bustle and very well connected by public transport. The nightlife here is one of the best in the UK and it's higly ecomomical for students like us. And being home to 2 universities, you're definitely gonna see students evrywhere, so making friends is easy.

The location of Northumbria university is great - it's near the city, so shopping and grocery buying is quick and easy to do. Plus the metro links take you from city to countryside in half an hour, or to the coast! There's also plenty of green space in Newcastle like Exhibition Park, Leazes Park and more.

The most amazing city in the UK. This place has everything from a beach, shopping, a metro and of course, the nightlife. Balancing the nightlife/lecturelife was hard but worth it. It's a stones throw away from gorgeous countryside too! Definitely a place to visit and study if you love culture, friendly people and fun.

Newcastle University is in an amazing location in the city, close to both Jesmond and the City Centre. There are many student housing areas and building surrounding it, as well as grocery stores and pharmacies in a minute’s walking distance. There are many pubs, shops, restaurants, and a whole mall around on the same street. A 5 minutes walk brings you to monument, and right off its campus is the Haymarket metro station that take you all the way to the airport or in the opposite direction to the coast.
