Nights out are always good as it is busy every night of the week. Shopping is also very good for clothes however it would be better if there were more affordable grocery shops.

There is nothing short of things to do in Newcastle. Other than its infamous night life, there are so many up and coming restaurants, food markets, with a sustainable ethos touching most of the city. It is easy to walk everywhere and very good value for money. There is also endless landmarks of culture, particularly art. Overall, it is the perfect place for students to live.

It's one of my favorite cities hands down. Its people are the friendliest people you'll ever meet in the UK. Amazing nightlife, although you wouldn't enjoy the noise of all the people if you're not going out because this city is REAL LOUD.

Newcastle is a city that never sleeps, the night life is outstanding. The city caters for lovers of all music types and the venues compliment. The city has a lot of homely food restaurants and weekly markets that sell good home cooked produce at a decent price. My favourite restaurant for a quick, cheap but delicious meal would have to be the burritos at Zapista, located opposite the train station and also just off Northumberland street at Haymarket. Shopping in Newcastle is easy as everywhere is within walking distance, the Fenwicks windows are a good attraction in winter.

As a student with children Newcastle is perfect as there is so much to do in and around the city (both free and paying things). The Centre for Life is fabulous for kids and there's so many parks and petting zoos that it is perfect.

newcastle is a brilliant city, it has hundreds of great places to go shopping, fun activities to do such as mini golf, cinemas and bowling. The nightlife has got to be the best, there's something for everyone and the city overall is so modern and full of life. The Quayside is beautiful and packed with life, such an amazing city that I'm glad to call home as a student.

The city is beautiful; so much to see and do (plenty of bridges). The night life is amazing, there's a place for everyone. Food Options are vast, fit any price range and suit every taste. Newcastle is most certainly value for money.

Newcastle is a cheap city with hundreds of amazing restaurants, a wide variety of bars and clubs with different themes/music and has two large shopping centres; one in town and one a cheap train ride away. The Quayside is perfect for a sunny stroll and the bridges are iconic and look beautiful light up at night. There's Christmas markets and bars and the Sunday market has a variety of different street food and cheap stalls. The metro system makes it easy to get around and there's always something going on. Best of all, there are more Greggs than one would ever need.

Good place very friendly lots of places to shop and eat and it has a shopping centre which has your main shops. Really nice at Christmas too with the markets and stalls that they put up. Lots of things to do in terms of sight seeing including Tyne bridge the quayside, Great Northern Museum etc.

Newcastle is probably the best city to live for students, with all amenities within your reach. The city is small, and everything is easily accessible. An Uber trip from one end to the other end costs less than £10. There are amazing restaurants to eat. Nearly every cuisine is available, and food apps have made it even possible to get the food within 20 minutes. Ousborne Road is famous for pubs, whereas the City Center is always bustling with its nightlife. The university is situated in the city center and as the accommodations are also nearby, so its very easy to commute to university or to the pubs/clubs. The Quayside is also very famous for its restaurants and the Millenium Bridge. Its a nice walk alongside the quay. The Eldon Shopping Center is also in the city center with all the major high street names. If you want more time for shopping, Meteocenter is just 10 mins away. Overlal the city is cheaper in terms of accommodation and food, as compared to other cities. I would definitely recommend Newcastle to everyone.

I love the city of Newcastle. It obviously has good nightlife, with both clubs and bars. But also it has a compact yet busy city centre, with every high street shop a person could want or need. Eldon Square shopping centre has all the main shops and restaurants, right opposite the uni. However Newcastle also has museums, art galleries and a cool independent cinema for the more cultural side.

Even though campus is out of the town a free bus is fabulous. The campus facilities are second to none. Fab student review scores hence why I chose this uni. There is every shop you need in town, the night life is as good as imaginable.

The location of Newcastle university itself is perfect. In the centre of the city with accommodation generally also centre, it couldn't be better. The city itself is an abundance of culture from cat/dog cafe's to the Tyneside cinema. Eldon square has some brilliant shopping and if that's not enough it's a short cheap bus ride to the metro centre. In terms of nightlife there is so much choice every night for all types of individuals. It's also incredible value for money.

Newcastle is the ulitimate student experience, with student club nights held every night and week nights being incredibly affordable. Student accommodation is amazing, offering comfortable flats for every budget. Supermarkets are super affordable, with Heaton housing the cheapest Tesco in the North East. I could not recommend Newcastle enough as a student destination, you would not regret moving to this hotspot.

Best student city going and the capital of a good night out and home to £5 trebles!! Never failed to have a great night out and there's loads of restaurants and bars to choose from and there's recently been a massive refurbishment of the city centre.

I chose my uni partly because I’d heard it was a cool area with lots of bars and pubs rather than clubs, which I prefer. So I’d definitely say consider that sort of thing when deciding on a uni!

The campus is right in the centre of town, giving you direct access to everything you need. Since the campus is compact, everywhere is within walking distance. Nightlife in Newcastle is unrivalled within the UK, giving students a wide selection of clubs, pubs, bars and restaurants to choose from. The coast is only a metro journey away, giving students access to beautiful beaches.

The north east of England is a great place to live and study. First of all, it’s a lot more affordable that other places in the UK. Newcastle University campus is compact and right in the centre of town, so everything you need is within walking distance. Newcastle has unrivalled nightlife in the UK and has a wide selection of restaurants and cafes. There are great concert halls, cinemas, leisure centres etc. The coast is only a metro journey away, allowing you to escape to beautiful beaches and scenery.

local shops are a perfect balance of affordable and good quality. so much choice of places to go on nights out as well as places to eat and drink. the size of the city is perfect as although it is inclusive of all the shops you could want, everything is within walking distance. Newcastle is my favourite city.

Probably the cheapest place in the country to live as a student - metro, taxis and a high uber population provide good transport links and everything you could need is within easy reach. The centre centre has plenty of shopping opportunities and if you need more then metro centre is just a short car or bus ride away. Nightlife is always active and caters to all, especially considering it’s the only city to offer drinks for prices no student can argue with.

Newcastle Univeristy campus is located right in the centre of Newcastle. It is a few minutes walk to the main shopping street, Northumberland Street, Elsdon Square Shopping Centre and the metro, bus and railway stations so getting to and from Univeristy, the city and the rest of the region, as well as the rest of the country and beyond is extremely easy. Although being based in the heart of the city the univeristy campus has a very friendly and close knit feel where you feel at ease, not overwhelmed. The location makes every part of univeristy life easy, from attending lectures and seminars, to grabbing lunch or dinner, to the wide array of pubs, bars and clubs you could head to with your uni mates. Newcastle is a fun, affordable and friendly city which caters for all aspects of student life in abundance and the univeristy campus is at the heart of it!

Best nights out lots of cheap student nights and places with free entry (busy every day of the week) Metros pretty reliable, and taxis are cheap and quick to get Loads of shops (and open til 8pm)

Dance and alternative theater scene is great: visit Live Theatre, The Northern Stage, Alphabetti Theatre Company or Dance City Newcastle to support local theatre and enjoy a dose of culture at reasonable prices.
