I visited my uni and really liked the city. It’s not too big but has good nightlife, nice pubs and is really cheap.

Great city for nightlife and a small enough city to have everything in it within reasonable distance from each other. Just a long travel though to anywhere else in England

Newcastle is a great place to go study and get the full university experience. It is brilliant for the nightlife with several student nights with really good discount on drinks and always very busy with other students. Loads of places to go eat for any budget and a good shopping centre and the metro centre is just a train ride away.

I think its one of the best cities in the UK to live in aa student since it provides value for money. The housing is cheap, the food is and going out even cheaper, its the perfect city for a student still wanting to live in a city like an environment and still afford to go out

Newcastle is a fortunately laid out city. Its city centre is small and easy to traipse across and about. The metro system is a great asset also - easy to use and not too packed even at rush hour. Food is amazing at Newcastle with a massive variety of cafés and restaurants of all cuisines. There are also several good bloggers to guide you on where you should spend your hard earned student loan. Things to do: the main draw is going on a night out which we all know Newcastle is famis for. However when that gets tiresome, good alternatives include a karaoke bar, an ice skating rink and several dessert places. Shopping: Eldon Square, though varied and large, is claustrophobic with its low roof and tons of people milling around. And it’s sadly lacking in a Zara

Newcastle is an amazing place. It hosts many events and there's always something to do as clubs and some shops are even open past normal hours. There's a few beaches that you can visit just a £5 metro ride away where you can chill and see the beachy sights...even have fish and chips... (but just be warned the prices are steadily increasing.) In many places drinks are really cheap and food can be too. You just have to learn where to find the good places. Eg granger market. There are also a lot of gems in Newcastle to visit and maybe even snap a pic or two for instagram. Eg the botanist, graffiti by the sage, the quayside or one of Newcastle many bridges. Sick of Newcastle?... why not go to the metro centre or jet off at the airport (it's just a metro ride away too) great for international students who want an easy flight to and from home. You'll find everything you need and more in Newcastle.

The nightlife in Newcastle is great. There's a wide range of clubs and bars that host all different kinds of music; truly something for everyone. In the day it's great to visit the Baltic art gallery, walk around Quayside, take a stroll through Jesmond Dene or even go to the beach. The shopping is also great, with a huge high street, Eldon Square and even the Metrocentre to choose from. There's endless fun to be had Newcastle whether it be in the day or night, all of which is incredibly accessible and affordable! It's a perfect city to be a student.

Living area is great lovely little cafes and live music pubs! Love the Cumberland arms! The town has a great range of places from a quiet drink to night clubs. One of the cheapest places to go for a night out as well also highly recommend beer Keller and the cut. Shopping is decent and always something to do from nights at the theatre to street shows.

Newcastle is a great city to be a student in, there are plenty of things to do within walking distance of the university campus and there are a variety of places to eat whether you're going fancy or you want an incredibly cheap eat4lrss. Eldon square Contains lots of shops to get clothes or gifts and food too. There is also the metro centre nearby if Eldon square isn't enough. Newcastle also has great nights out for students and the city on a night is always lively with places to go out every night of the week and the taxis around Newcastle are very fast and very cheap making them ideal for student use.

Newcastle is a great city, with everything near by, the location is great. You have all the shops on your doorstep in addition to the coast and the countryside. Its amazing, not too small and not too large - just right.

The Newcastle college HE students do courses that are comparable to Uni Courses. The location is close to central station making it accessible. The campus has a bar and space for HE students to socialise. Newcastle is known for its night life, student nights include Digi, Bijoux, dortiz and if all else fails, Wetherspoons!
