Great venue, drinks are slightly more expensive than other places but it's free entry! cheesy music and great atmosphere, full of students in the week and then tends to have an older crowd at the weekend

Really cheap drinks. Really fun music. Friendly ass bouncers. Very fun decor. The stairs to the toilets are a little bit lethal in heels after a drink but overall a very fun night. P.s. bring back the poles pls.

Flares is a fun night out. Lots of cheesy classics and stage to dance on for when you're drunk enough. It has a really good atmosphere and lots of friendly people

Flares is a club with the right sort of music and the right sort of people for the most part... the bar staff are brilliant and accommodating and the atmosphere is outstanding. One of the best clubs in Newcastle.

Yeh it's really fun. Great atmosphere. Good for a jokes night out. Free entry so will save you money. Defo worth it. Loads of students

Great music, lively atmosphere and a great place for students to go out! It's on the cheap side too!

Flares is great for those looking for golden oldies music and is very student friendly in the sense that it is free entry. It's music all ages can enjoy no matter what state you're in. The only negative is the price of drinks which are not student friendly in the slightest however this is not a pres bar so it can get away with it.

It plays the best music in town when you just want to have a good dance with your pals. The drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is great as everyone is there for a good time.

This is one of the best places in Newcastle for an easily fun night out. They always play cheesy music that everyone knows from their school days and the DJ's shoutouts are somewhat reminiscent of an embarrassing dad trying to be a DJ. Most people are very drunk at flares. With free entry (except for Friday/Saturday) it is a good deal, though drinks are a little more pricy than other cheap Newcastle bars (though nothing like club prices) - they also don't sell trebles. Venue does feel a bit dirty and old.

Good prices for drinks, cheesy classics ABBA and such. Good if that's what you want from your night out, always fun if you are drunk enough.

I really enjoy the music in flares, they have a good variety! The drinks are also well priced. However the toilets are not so great, they could do with fixing/updating and made to feel more warming.

Love Flares! Who doesn't, they've got good songs, friendly(-ish) bouncers and it's free to get in. Really cheesy could probably do with a revamp but it's a fun student night and can get really busy. Also wish the toilets weren't down a massive flight of stairs as that can be abit daunting after one too many trebs.

Flares is the best night out in Newcastle if you love dancing and 80s music! Always a great vibe and good prices for drinks!

I love flares music and the light up dance floor, only comment would be that the drinks could be a little cheaper to match the prices of soho/trebs bars.

An absolute alcoholic heaven for Newcastle Uni students. Classic music, cheap booze, VKs, free entry and full of students. Couldn’t ask for a better place to include in a bar crawl, and there’s been so many times we’ve ended the night in Flares instead of carrying on. Absolutely love this place, would marry it if i could

It is always an excellent time in flares when I remember it. On student nights the entry is free, the drinks are cheap and the memories last a lifetime.

Great music, good atmosphere, drinks are a but expensive though. Free entry on weekdays is great and the smoke machines and disco balls are good fun. The staff are alright I guess and love the new free popcorn deal.

Always end up here on a night out, old throw backs, cringey and feel good music!! Free entry all the time too lol

Amazing venue! Fantastic prices. Reasonably priced, free entry before 11pm, lovely bouncers, lovely bartenders & the DJ is a good laugh tooo! All the latest top 40 songs aswell. Takes requests, the venue is just down from jalou, along a line of other fantastic clubs but this is by far my favourite. Great for students and non students! Always get a fanatic vibe in here and really cheers me up!

Flares is the top venue in Newcastle for a fun and crazy night, a place where you find an incredible mix of local gordies and newcastke students all partying to some of the classic cheesy fun songs ever made. Complete with a stage, light up dance floor and dancing poles whats more to want! Super value drinks too and free entry on weeknights! Right in the centre on the famous golden strip of newcastle flares is just around the corner from any club for when the place shuts at 1. Love the place

Cheesy music with cheap drinks. That what makes flares so special, which draws in a wide range of ages, from university sports teams to hen dos. The light up dance floor reminiscent of the disco era matches up with the music played to give a fun, friendly atmosphere

Absolute best cheesy night out ever! Any one who says they’ve not enjoyed a flares night is lying! Free entry, cheap drinks and 90s pop= every students dream.

I love Flares. I love cheesy songs that get everyone singing along and dancing. If you like 80’s music and disco balls it is the place for you. There is a platform that makes it super fun to do some straight-out-of-the-movies dance routines and £1 (I think) shots of every flavor. They take song requests and the doormen are great. Let me borrow their hotspot once when I forgot to pay my cell phone bill. Definitely friendly to students but not the cheapest bar you can go to. It can also get pretty crowded later in the night but they stop allowing people in an hour before they close.
