The location is far out compared to other accommodation, being a 20 minute walk from the city centre/university. Price wise it is expensive for what it is, having seen newer and cheaper accommodation available. Portland green are good at putting on events to cater for all however which is a plus. In addition the maintenance team are good, having had to use them multiple times in the three months it has been.

The location of Turner Court is a walk away from the university, but don't take it as a negative as it allows you to get in a daily excercise as well as wake you up for the day. Although it's not that far away, I often find myself spending the time in between my lectures studying in Students Union and socialising with friends rather than simply going home for a "break". The facilities itself are great, the En-Suite being the highlight. Although there is a common room, it's not used as much as a social room, but as a place to pass time as you wait for your laundry.

Good location, far enough from everything to be able to walk on foot as well as enjoy quiet time at night. Great facilities and staff are wonderful

It's definitely not the worst looking but considering what we paid it's not the best you'll get for your money. The location is not the best either as we were isolated and didn't have any friendly neighboring halls nearby however you were blessed with our very own Tesco and subway literally in the same building as us so that was very convenient for us students. Additionally we weren't too far away from town or from University just far from everyone else in first year, but I believe new halls have been constructed in the area so I guess there have been some improvements there. As for the room, you can't really complain. Double bed, a nice big desk and an ensuite bathroom. The lumpy mattress can be fixed by using a mattress topper and the controversial yellow interior can be mended by sticking posters all over the walls. The facilities nonetheless were very solid. The compromise however is that halls with ensuite bathrooms tend to be the least socialable and turner court was no exception. The common room is very underwhelming and there is a lack of effort to unite students within the halls so it's up to you to make use of your own resources and social abilities to mix with other people. I personally was lucky enough to make the very most of Turner court by making use of the Facebook group page however I strongly believe I was one of the very few who was able to.

Can be less social if you have fewer people in your flat. Can be noises from the road if your facing the road and the light from street lamps are bright when shine in your room. Good sized bathroom and room and bed. Good desk space

Location for me was okay, it was 20 minutes walk away to Newcastle university but it was closer to northumbria University. There was a social area but it wasn't used much, it felt very clinical and awkward therefore I only got to know people in my flat and not around the halls. The washing was expensive, the same company was used throughout most halls yet it was cheaper elsewhere which was unfair. The price I also paid per week was okay but others who paid the same or slightly less got more for their money (gym, cinema room, nicer bedrooms, better social area). I loved my room and en-suite, they were big, bright and cleaned when I arrived. Turner Court ilwas always very warm.
