The accomodation itself is no where near the university campus, but on the other side of the bridge in gateshead, however it is in a nice area with a cinema, nandos, burger king, large tesco extra etc right on the doorstep and the metro station is a few minutes walk away. The rooms are small, but have everything you need - nice ensuite. Kitchens are well equipped with washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, kettle, microwave, fridge/freezer and large oven. The flats do tend to get very hot and stuffy due to the layout of and the lack of ventilation - there are fire doors theoughout which are required to be shut at all times and the windows have restrictors meaning they only open a couple of cm, this creates a very unpleasant atmosphere in which to live, sleep and study. The staff are very strict and the rules are tight considering this accomodation is aimed at first year students who are most likely moving away from home for the first time. There is a noise curfew of 11pm after which if you make the slighest of noise you will find security waltzing into your flat (without knocking) ruining whatever is going on and then continuing to harrass you for the rest of your time there. Security staff also like to enter your flat without knocking as many times as humanely possible just to make ‘health and safety’ checks, to the point where you feel personally victimised and anxious. This is only a small snapshot of the ways in which your time at university will be ruined if you choose to live at trinity square!
