Manchester is need of decent clubs as the best ones are closing down - Antwerp, Sound Control, Sankeys. The shopping is great, especially the Trafford Cente being only a bus ride away!

Manchester life is v good, however the night life is getting worse as many clubs are shitting down. The shopping excellent and there is a great variety of food places.

I chose my uni mainly because of the location and I can honestly say, I have had the best time here. There is so much to do in Manchester and the university is amazing too!!

Manchester is a great city, loads of amazing bars/restaurants/cafes, especially in the Northern Quarter.

Really close to the city centre, on the main bus route, close to everything you need. Beautiful city, great for students.

An excellent city with so much going on, a vibrant underground scene with some of the best dance acts coming from across the globe. The food scene is also A+, the northern quarter is Manchester’s answer to shoreditch.

The most beautiful in Manchester is Intu Trafford Centre. I like this place. I would like to live in Manchester, but now I can’t move on other city.

The university is really central. But I will warn you that it takes a long time to get anywhere by public transport or uber/taxi unless its a weird time, because there is a ridiculous amount of traffic. I highly recommend cycling because you can get from the main student accommodation in Fallowfield to uni in 15 minutes instead of 30 on the bus!! You can find anything you can dream of here, bars, shops, clubs etc. although most clubs are in town ( a bus/uber away)... They keep shutting the ones out of the city centre which is VERY SAD

I selected this uni based on reviews from siblings who said the night life was amazing and that for shopping there was loads of choice

Manchester nights out are some of the best and cheapest in the country if you know where to look and the most sophisticated if you look elsewhere. There’s a wide range of places to shop and eat out with something that will please everyone. Like every big city you’re never bored and there’s always something to do. There’s also lots of parks if you want to get away from it all and just be quiet for a minute or two.

I have lived in Manchester my whole life, so didnt really need to think too much about where i would attend uni, as i knew there were many options for me. However, i never knew just how many cool places were hidden in and around my university, and i found SO many amazing food, art, clothing shops.

Nights out in manchester are very good and there are lots of different venues you can choose from. Eating out here is also varied, as is going for a drink with friends, lots of choice. I would say a lot of the student aimed places are great value for money

In Manchester, there is honestly something for everyone. There is always something upcoming, something new and something exciting just around the corner for you to try. Whether that's a new restaurant, shop or bar, Manchester never seems to get old or tire for things to do, any night of the week. Manchester continues to hold on to its strong music ties. An elaborate and exotic range of genres as well as massive names in the music scene see their way through the famous city. Not only that we even have our very own curry mile, which, whilst self explanatory is reason enough to at least check it out for yourself. Manchester offers up a charming friendliness to all, combined with the busiest and best bus route in Europe is the recipe for perfection.

Manchester is best city to be a student in!! So so easy and cheap to get buses everywhere and teams run to most places buses don’t. Also good train connections to other cities. Loads of free stuff in the city to do and good places to eat (especially northern quatre)!!! Best city nightlife out of all the cities I’ve been to when visiting friends

There is something for everyone in Manchester. An awesome variety of bars, clubs and live music every day of the week. Transport isn't at all bad, especially now tge route between halls and uni is buses only. There's so many places to eat affordable, Delicious food, but it takes insider knowledge to know where to go. It is a thriving city with so much going on that even 3yrs in I'm not at all bored of living here. I love Manchester!

Really good city. Always lots of club nights going on as well as concerts and pub quizzes etc if clubbing isn't your thing. The arndale is a great place to go shopping and the northern quarter is also there for if you're interested in a more alternative scene

Amazing nights out, great selection of different clubs to everyone’s taste. For such a big city, the value for money is fantastic. Accommodation is cheap, food/drinks are very cheap. The biggest student population of any university in the UK means there’s loads of new opportunities to make friends with similar people. Manchester can’t be beaten.

There is everything anyone could possibly want to do. There is a wide range of eateries and shops including both large chains and independents. There is also a large number of galleries and museums and other culture to see. Much of this can be done on foot, and there are green spaces and walks e.g. along the canals. Trams allow transport further out for a reasonable price so there is even more to see with relative ease.

So many bars, and places to eat. I love how you can easily join clubs, and meet new people and people come from all over which is great to have friends from all over the country. And being able to live just outside the city centre in affordable housing is great too. I love it
