Nights out are amazing, location is ideal and very easy to get into the city centre from Fallowfield.

Plenty of places to go eat and drink, either along the main shopping centre or explore the secret bars in the northern quarter. Loads of high street stores with reasonable prices. The night life is booming as it has many clubs and bars especially along deansgate, the student bars are also good for money.

There really is no better place to be, like London but cheaper. There's always some free stuff to do and shopping in town is pretty good with the Trafford if you want a bit more viarety. Public transport is easy to get your head around a'd pretty cheap to get passes for.

Manchester is very hard to beat in terms of a location as it has everything you need from great bars and pubs . Plenty to do all within reasonable walking distance. The like of areas such as fallowfield or Withington are all handy to get to uni on the magic bus

Keele University has a great location. It’s extremely beautiful all year round. And we have the benefit of having the biggest campus in the UK, or so I’ve heard. All you need to do is take a five minute walk go find something new. The area itself is great. There’s loads to do and see, such as, Alton Towers, Trentham Gardens or even Stoke waterpark. Yeah can get pretty much anything you want or need despite it being such a small town.

The Manchester metropolitan university is situated in the perfect location for students, right in the hustle and bustle of Manchester. It’s located on oxford road, which offers many eateries, bars, nightclubs, and so much more! It’s also a short 10 minute bus ride into the town centre, which costs students only £1.50! Manchester is one of the best places in the UK for shopping, with both the arndale and Trafford centre. The northern quarter is also a great place to venture as a student, with loads of thrift / charity shops, record shops, beer gardens, quirky cafes and the famous afflecks which is an indoor market with dozens of independent stalls, small shops and boutiques!

Manchester is a vibrant city that providers not only a safe environment for student, but an environment where students can grown and develop. Manchester is growing daily and it is providing more and more opportunities for students to get involved with the community, learn new cultures and make friends. Student night life and general living is reasonable for students as the city offer many various locations that provide discounts and saver deals for students.

Manchester is a city of great variety with a great atmosphere and the friendliest locals which makes it very welcoming for students from all over the country and the world. The liberal political atmosphere and Labour majority maintains a strong focus and support for students, making them feel heard and valued. No matter what kind of music, food or party you are into, or what night a week it is you can go dance your heart out, listen to some chill jazz or hit up any of the amazing restaurants which have student friendly prices. Manchester will cater for all tastes and it will do it well!

Manchester is a great place to go to uni for many reasons. The nightlife is lively, however, even if you are not one to enjoy nights out, there is still plenty to do! MMU uni is located in a great central area, within walking distance from the Arndale shopping centre & only a short drive away from the Trafford Centre. The transport links in the area are great & taxis are very cheap, particularly if you are coming from a city like London. Overall, Manchester is a great university experience & highly recommended!

Once you know where to go and what you like to do, manchester is a great, fun, cheap experience to have. The city caters for everyone and welcomes them with open arms. I don't think I've been in another city that embraces its own culture as much as Manchester does and that really adds to the experience. Top tip: don't go for conventional, skip the chains and the franchises and go to independent boutiques and restaurants, thats there the magic happens.

Having come from a small town in Dorset, Manchester is a world of possibility! The city is so big and diverse that you will always have something to do, and it can appeal to all people. There is no way you can go to every bar or club here, there are just too many of them. The music scene is also amazing, you have the worlds biggest artists that are regularly in town, and you have all other artists that play in the UK too. Most of which is completely affordable, obviously depending on your budget. So the night life is really what you make of it, almost everything that London can offer you at a more reasonabble price. In terms of transport, I would highly recommend the stagecoach bus pass. It does cost about £230 but, it allows you to get on any of their buses to anywhere in the city. It is really useful as most places aren't necessarily walking distance, including parts of the uni (depending on what halls you choose, the best party halls are all about 25 mins on the bus away, all the other halls are closer though). I you have any interest in football then you can get cheap tickets to city and united games through the SU for about £15, and the buses will take you the whole 45 minute journey. Again, in terms of access to food and shopping there is so much diversity. As soon as you think you have a good grasp of the food places in town you realise what Withington, Chorlton and others have to offer you too. They are just all a bus journey away as well. In terms of value for money, the city is what you make of it entirely. It is easy to spend very little, and easy to spend a lot. I know people that do both, and you just need to keep an eye on what you are doing. I have just finished my third year in Manchester and have loved every second of it. In my opinion it is the best city you can be at for uni, it offers nearly as much as London, at a very reasonable price.

Manchester is a great location because it covers every aspect, shopping, food, night life. You have the Arndale, Northern quarter, picaddily, oxford road, ancoats, to name a few, the list is not exhaustive, there’s something for everyone. If you want high end shopping you have selfridges, Harvey Nichols, flannels yet you also have loads of vintage and charity shops. As for food you can pretty much have anything from stone baked pizza At Rudy’s for a fiver or as much meat as you can eat at fazenda. There’s something for everyone’s budget and taste

Manchester is by far the best city you could go to, the nightlife is second to none with countless bars and good clubs. Great access to shopping whether it be food or clothes. Accommodation is expensive but you get what you pay for with the city.

Manchester is a great place to be. Bring Mancunian myself I did not expect my step from college to university to really change my outlook on Manchester at all. However, I was wrong. Manchester is a great student hub, so much to do, sport, nightlife, food, it's got the lot.

Manchester is an amazing city to live and study! You have everything at your fingertips. There's nothing like a mc Donalds at 3am in the morning after finishing a long essay! Unlimited gigs all over the city in lovely venues all the time and great bars for nights out as well.

Manchester is a great place to live as a student. Getting from your house to uni to town centre is super quick and cheap thanks to the magic bus. For the daytime, there’s loads of cool, quirky cafe spots in the northern quarter, great for meeting up with mates, and all the cafes are really friendly towards students ie student discounts and don’t mind if you set up with your books and study in there for a couple hours. In the evening, nightlife is great, especially great for LGBT community if you go to canal st, you can find everything from drag to clubs to gay bingo to gay afternoon tea, amazing! A lot of places are free entry there as well :) Being in the north as well, drinks are cheap!

Manchester is a fantastic student city. It’s “up North” so people are really friendly and living costs are low. Nights out are top quality and there’s something for everyone, plus super cheap buses to and from the city centre. The curry mile is famous for its Asian cuisine but there’s all sorts of restaurants, as well as cheap takeaways and cute cafes. I’ve lived here for four years and loved every second!
