I personally had a decent time at Weston Hall, I had some good flatmates however I know people in the halls which had not even introduced themselves to eachother after 2 months! If you like going out and want a social life I would choose a fallowfield campus, if you like your own space and a quiet night in you may like this halls. The rooms are really crampt and have almost no room so would not recommend for art students or people who require storage space

These halls were on the whole - awful. They were located in a great spot, not 5 minutes from university, as advertised, but still only 20 minutes away from the main campus and 15 minutes from Piccadilly gardens! However that was pretty much the only positive. It contained a lot of all girl flats which we did not request. Out of this a fair few were international students who were very antisocial and so the community wasn't as good as that of the other halls in Fallowfield. The facilities were basic. The decor was sad. The doors swung shut unless you were to buy yourself door stops and so made it more antisocial. The toilets flushes were upside down which isn't necessarily bad but was odd. Maintenance were speedy - however they were needed too often. Overall I would not recommend these halls at all to anyone looking to come to the University of Manchester. Save yourself some money and gain yourself some more friends in any other hall of residence the university has to offer.

Facilities could be improved (e.g. Better oven, microwave, 2 taps for the 2 existing sinks). The overall location is not bad, everything is accessible. Include WiFi!

The location is very convenient if you are based in the north campus and it's near the city centre so very easy to get around. A lot of regular activities are run by the hall residence team eg buffet and day trips to other towns for just a couple of quid. The common room is newly renovated so a lot of facilities eg pool tables, foosball etc. The reception would receive and sign your parcels for you so you wouldn't miss any deliveries if you're not at home. Rooms are en suite so you wouldn't have to fight for a shower with like 10 other people. There's also someone cleaning the kitchen and the flat shared area regularly. One of the downsides though is that there is NO WIFI. So you'll have to use the Ethernet cable instead which is a pain. Another thing to note is that the rooms are quite small and for the same price at a different hall you could get a much larger room with a double bed. The hall is also quite old so you're not expecting anything modern or visually pleasing. Overall it's not too bad. Great options for those who's looking for a uni hall to stay in the north campus with en suite rooms.

The kitchen and communal lounge is nice and spacious. However, the rooms don't get WiFi so you have to rely on Ethernet and the rooms look like prisons.

The best thing about Weston halls as an engineering student was its location. Its very close to the city centre and north campus. Otherwise it is quite pricey for the quality of the room. It is quite secure and quiet. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. There is a parking lot opposite with a discounted rate during the weekends which is useful when visitors stay over.

The halls are in a prime location for the north campus. Also perfect for clubbing with a short trio to many of the student areas. The city center is also very close .

Pretty clean. Rooms are small with a single bed. Mostly an ok experience but not the halls you wanna be in if you wanna make a lot of friends. It mostly has the quiet studious types being a campus very close to uni. Also doesn’t have WiFi only has an Ethernet cable.

The location is great, and that is what you pay for with Weston. The rooms are big enough - single beds but we can’t have everything - and there’s a decent ensuite. However, both me and a friend have had mice in our bedrooms, and there is a problem with silverfish, mice and rats in other blocks. The boiler is shot at the minute and the shower will either freeze or scald you at any given moment - I have been left with relative burns in some instances. The social aspect is great in my experience, but as the hall is mainly international students I know that many people haven’t been as fortunate as to meet as many friends as we have and formed bonds. The events are more catered for international students, they don’t take us on nights out but they did repair the pool table, and they have frequent pizza nights. We don’t have WiFi but we do have an Ethernet port and you have to hotspot your laptop. It’s not great for 136 a week but that’s life, I suppose.

the rooms are tiny and old, so is the ensuite. halls are hideously overpriced seeing as there is no cleaner and there’s mice, silverfish and begbugs in almost all blocks. only good thing is the location but you can’t even have pres here without noise complaints also there’s no wifi?!?!! it’s literally 2018 and you’re forced to plug your laptop in to get internet, it’s actually laughable there’s a small common room that no one uses most students are international and don’t leave their rooms

This wasn't the halls that I applied for but I ended up with it anyway and after reading loads of reviews I got really upset bc they said it would be awful but honestly it wasn't that bad. Fair enough, it didn't have too much of a community vibe and the kitchen didn't have a table but if you made friends on your course and ate in your room it was fine. The best thing about it though was the location. Right round the corner from fifth, factory and sound control and there's a bus stop right outside for the 147 to uni which is free for students. Also it was nice to have a loo to yourself lol.

The location is perfect for an engineering student as it is right across the engineering building. And it’s close to the city, which is nice. The room is however too small, while the kitchen is quite big and perfect for 8 people in one flat. Socials were handled frequently by the student rep, you get the chance to eat buffet or go to a theme park at a very small fee! (Subsidised by the uni, of course)
