Location good as fallowfield, and room a decent size (although not all as big as each other...). But they're the only good things. Socially was so bad, and food gross. So bad I moved accomodation.

Beautiful grounds and spacious rooms, decent food & portions, however kitchen facilities for self catered weekends are not what you'd expect for the price you may be paying to live there ie £130-£150/week , lack of flats means it's super hard to socialise and feel comfortable the way you may observe amongst friends in the other halls, took me way too long to feel settled here and the corridor type layout where you only interact properly during mealtimes made my anxiety terrible when I was still starting off not knowing anybody. Too easy to hide in your room if you're feeling nervous and nobody will come and knock on you to say hi if you don't already know them. Additionally there's not much space good for socialising and for the price of the rooms the standards of hygiene in the bathrooms are really bad ie wasps infesting in the showers and weird smells in the bedrooms . Located In fallowfield though with squirrels bar etc which makes up for a lot of these issues and I've still made one or two close friends but the experience as a whole for my first year at uni wasn't what I wanted and if I could redo I wouldn't stay here in ashburne.

We had 2 meals a day- with very nice staff. Grass sureounded the halls, with an outside football pitch as well. The location was right next to all the halls with the university building being an easy 10 minute bus away. Fallowfield is the best place to stay. There was hall socials held every month to get to know the people you live with, with free drinks of course. All of the rooms had a sink and were a decent size.

Breakfast was great. Dinner was not as good for vegeterian's but otherwise okay. The lay out made it a bit lonely and I was lucky to make such good friends, otherwise I could have had a pretty miserable first year. Rooms are a pretty good size if you like having a nice space of your own. Bathrooms shared between alot of people. Lovely location and garden.

Ashburne was so fun and so friendly. It allows you to be in the 'party', social side to Manchester in Fallowfield, but isn't as rowdy as other halls. Bit of a private-school feel sometimes, but the dining hall is beautiful, the average room size is large and the formal events held every month are very fun!

My room was on 2nd floor and was very spacious. Catered food took effort off of me and there was usually a nice option on each day. Kitchens for making food on weekends was small and shared between lots of people so was cramped. Public toilet/shower spaces weren't necessarily always maintained (hole in ours' ceiling), and the cleanliness will mostly depend on the batch of people you end up sharing your corridor with, until the cleaners come and clean it. Dining room was grand and large and impressive, and it was great to have a beautiful on site library and the gardens to sit outside on when it was sunny. Great location being in Fallowfield, and there's a bus stop right outside Ashbourne.
