The towns itself it alright, they have a cinema and spoons, but that’s about it. To get into town from the uni is a bit of a trek, you either have to walk or get the bus. The nights out in Loughborough are average, for a good night out Nottingham or Leicester are your best bet.

Loughborough town maybe be every small but they is alot to do as there is a range from shopping to eating out to going to the cinema or even a game of bingo at beacon bingo. When you are struggling to find affordable but great entertainment you should always come to look at Loughborough. Or you could just take strowl through queen's garden and take in its beauty.

Loughborough is a deceptive town which is mostly student centric. It has a lot of hidden places that people, typically student don't visit very much as it is not always in walking distance.

Night's out can get a bit samey after a while, as there's only a few bars in town and the students union. Food is limited to mainly fast food and chain restaurants, however there are a few nice restaurants. Nottingham is a short train/bus away and shopping, nights out and eating out is much better there

Town itself is basic. Has the essentials, ie supermarkets, coffee shops, bars and restaurants with a few clothes shops too. Fairly clean and not too busy. Safety isn't an issue, never come across any trouble, not even at night.

Loughborough may be small and short of a city buzz but the university and town makes up for that. There is never nothing to do and you will see the same faces around!! If you do enjoy bigger nights out, Loughborough is only a short (and cheap) trip away from Leicester, Birmingham and Nottingham! It has a welcoming feel to the place and you soon feel very comfortable here. Not as daunting as perhaps a city would be.

Student dominated town with good atmosphere during term time. Market / town centre is nice at the weekends, quite a few nice and not over priced restaurants around Baxter Gate (recent development). Town nights out can be mixed, but seem to be improving in variety.

Being a student city, there is a lot of stuff for us to do. There are many pubs and clubs to go out at night and then have some food at 4AM after going out or having it delivered while doing all nighters in the library during the exam session. As not a big shopping person, I find the ones available here sufficient. It is also great we have most of the big groceries brands to choose from, with more supposedly coming in the city soon. I would love to have big shops a bit closer to the campus, but the distance they are at isn't too bad. While I haven't done many, the town seems to be packed with activities, from paintballing, cinema, escape rooms and so on. The town is also quite well linked with other cities by rail and road, with many frequent departures. And if in need of something more to do or to connect to leave to other places, Nottingham and Leicester are only half an hour by bus away. I would recommend the city as it is a quiet and relaxed one, but there is plenty of stuff to do to enjoy your time here.

My campus isn't actually in Nottingham although it's still a part of the university. It's a struggle getting into the city centre to properly experience the nightlife and all the city has to offer however the nearby town has a lot to do (Kegworth). There are a few pubs where there is often live music and karaoke nights. the campus itself hosts a few good student nights throughout the year. Other than that, the location isn't the best and I would advise someone to live closer to the city centre.

The location is fairly prime for most student festivities however the campus truely is a Loughborough Bubble. Once you pass through the gates, you might as well be in another city completely separate to Loughborough town centre. The onsite facilities are great, teaching is excellent and the demographic of students is also extremely diverse. Nights out are good, with a fun student union- one comment I would make is that the student union is also part of Loughborough College which can be both a blessing and a curse. The shops onsite are owned by Coop but are generally reasonably priced and well stocked. There are two large supermarkets fairly close to the uni and they are well priced and well stocked too.

Good night out with friends and good value for money. Plenty of clubs and things to do to relieve some stress of uni and perfect when on a budget

The campus is really good and there are some decent shops and stuff in town but certain areas are quite rough especially near the estate.

Loughborough University is a great campus university and I really liked the campus nature of it however when it comes to town there’s not that much it has to offer, with only a few clubs you pick one to go to on a night rather than moving between places. However the cities of Nottingham and Leicester are a short train journey away and so Loughborough has a good balance of quiet town and also access to busy city.

There are few nightclubs in Loughborough, but those there are are great especially the student union. Shopping is small but Leicester is easily accessible but Loughborough has everything you need including a range of food. Nights out and living costs are reasonable and nothinf is too expensive.

Loughborough is situated right between Nottingham and Leicester. Despite being small, all of the nights out a big! It's £5 train ride to get to one of the cities so larger event are easily reachable. There are a variety of shops such as boots, Topshop and Primark available for Freshers week essentials! The town is probably half made up of students and being such a large uni that's a lot of young people!

Location is fairly good if what our looking for is a small town that’s bog enough to sustain other population than the students and campus. In terms of nights out they are great and most people stay in the union as they have events most nights of the week. They also have events on during the day. The nights out in town are equally as good as each club has a species date that it’s kicking. Food is great especially desert places there are tons of nice ones around Loughborough, and bieng a student town delivery such as deliverooo and just eat are quite popular. Shops are good and have a fault good value for money. However there is not a wide range of clothes shopping! There at a few fun things o do with friends with two cinemas hall and laser quest and jumping Juanita and such. There are a few nice pubs as wwell as bars.

Not a huge variety of clubs but made up for by the fact that it is very cheap and you can still have a good night out. If looking for more Nottingham, Leicester and Derby all near by for shopping, food, nightlife etc.

Quiet area if you’re used to a big city, not much into do in terms of shopping or nightlife. There are lots of reasonably priced places to eat though.

Loughborough is a great University and the location is perfect. It is the perfect in between- between a small town and a city. You get the shops and the hussle and bustle of a city but also the safeness and security of a town.

Loughborough is a small town that doesn't have much to offer in terms of shopping outlets, although the eating out experience is fairly okay. Nights out are reasonable but there is not a huge range of places to go. Transport isn't great because the train station is on the other side of town and Kinch buses are not the cheapest although taxis are a shout

Great market on Thursdays and Saturdays Could use having more shops Parts of it are quite run down and dodgey Not much to do aside from uni events Could use more walking trails Buses are way to expensive to get into town - no return fare available

All the essentials! Shopping to cover all your needs, good nightlife options and countryside very close to get away from it when needed

The nights out here are amazing and I could not fault, with the addition of Baxter Gate the food selection has also improved massively. There a lots of random things to do like escape rooms and laser quest, and plenty of charity shops for those bargain hunters. However, on the general shopping front its a bit lacking, but you are not far from Leicester or Nottingham which have fab selections!

The area of Loughborough is small, compared to the well known cities. However Loughborough has a friendly student feel about it. The town itself is not to big and at the same time is not too small. It has enough large retailers and food restaurants that you need. It also has a good social nightlife; there is a fair number of pubs and clubs. The Loughborough campus is one of the main parts of the area as it is the centre of what most people come here for!
