Considering how notorious and infamous Fabric once was, it doesn't really feel like anythig special. The hype around this venue is not justified at all, and neither is the very long queue and overly extensive security checks to get in. When you finally get into the club, the layout is confusing, the music is repetitive and the atmosphere is just ok (understandably, the venue is very strict and alert, but it leaves the dancefloor feeling verrrry sanitised and supervised - not fun!). The drinks aren't too expensive but there is a minimum card charge so you have to buy two at a time. You aren't allowed drinks in the smoking area too which is really inconvenient (I had a friend who felt a bit ill, and we weren't allowed to sit him outside with a cup of water until he felt better). I do not think this club is awful, however matches the likes of Egg, XOYO or Fire and Lightbox; I just feel conned by how overrated and overhyped this venue is. Maybe back in the day it would have been as legendary as people say, however now it is just like any other club; too clean/clinical!!!
