Location is great just a few minutes walk from Guy’s campus and it has great transport links. A great thing about GDS is the gym and social space which has computers and a printer. I had an ensuite room which was small but serviceable

As a first year medical student the location is perfect because all our lessons are at Guys campus- 5-10 minute walk. The staff generally get complaints and repairs dealt with. Rooms are small and a bit grim but what do you expect? It’s london. Gym is useful.

Great location so close to guys campus so can walk there in 10 mins. If you're doing medicine or any of the biomedical sciences then it's perfect because most of the others living in GDS will be doing similar courses so you all walk to campus together and you get to know so many of the people you live with. Very sociable halls and had a great experience with my flat of 8 people.. all used to enjoy drinks together in our kitchen in the evenings before going out together. Many good memories.

These halls are in a great location. Easy to walk to both guys and strand campus. Only 30 mins walk to the strand campus and 10 mins to guys. The halls are quite old and could do with a revamp considering how much they cost. The lifts sometimes broke but people were always on hand to fix them. Security are friendly when you get to know them but are very no nonsense which although may be annoying it keeps students safe. The heating in the rooms are electronic which isn't fun in winter as they sometimes smell when used however the building usually stay quite warm throughout the year. Tv in all kitchens. Spacious kitchens for normally 7 students.

The facilities were alright, but it's overpriced for what it is. The kitchen hob was also useless and took 20 mins to heat up

Location was very nice, middle of Borough and very close to London Bridge and Elephant and Castle. Easy to walk to Guy's Campus and okay to walk to Waterloo. Bit of effort if you're on the Strand though. Maintenance tended to be very quick, just needed to pull your finger out and report it. Room was decent size, but get used to a single bed. Get used to the bathroom being essentially a wet room.

Location was great for people on guys campus (5-10 min walk) or Waterloo campus (20min walk). Security was high. Students must pass staff on entry and provide information of any other people staying over, must have their student card, flat key and room key. All rooms were relatively small- single bed, desk, chair, shelf, single window and small wardrobe, with an ensuite/wet room. Would recommend bringing hangers for wardrobe and hanging shelves as little storage space. Internet was poor in my room, but good in the kitchen and a computer room was present on the ground floor.

The location of Great Dover Street is brilliant. With a 10 minute walk to university and round the corner from borough high street where the KCL fun starts. The bedrooms are quite small but you have own bathroom! Girls listen up... the toilet is next to the shower... top tip sit on the toilet to shave legs in shower! Normally share a kitchen with up to 8 people with a big spacious kitchen and wide window. Good facilities with new gym and computer room! A huge courtyard and minutes away from your friends!

Great halls with big common room, close to a lot of local bars (including guys bar)! All rooms are en-suite with a shared kitchen. Only downside is the rooms are brights green/yellow

Cold water. Staff not very nice. Can hear through walls. Rooms small and overpriced. RAs are nice though. Students are hit and miss. Wifi doesn't work

The location is so convenient since there are so many shops nearby. The facilities are awesome. The people living nearby are nice.

Friendly staff, good community atmosphere, and good communal area. Rooms well sized but yellow walls takes getting used to.

Location: OK, good especially if you're based at Guy's campus, near Borough station is can go into Central London quickly Room: ensuite single, I paid £192 per week which is expensive but to be expected in London Social experience: pub (Dover Castle) down the road which is quite popular

In general the location is an excellent factor. However the WiFi didn't work a lot of the time. Hot water is not available and the shower heads seem to be bad in general- I have been in 2 rooms over 2 years and both seemed to have water spritzing out only very finely. The rooms are really small and sometimes have scribbled writing of previous students over the study table and walls. The room heaters are horrible and would only go up to a bleak 21 degrees which also didn't seem like that temp. Worse is after reaching the max, it would automatically stop and you would have to wake up freezing in the middle of the night to get out and turn it on again. They were changing it I think, but only for those rooms where the previous ones had broken down which seems unfair. Maintainence call is good as in they send men to do the servicing within about 48-72 hrs from your call however, it doesn't seem to stay fixed and gets broken or shower starts spritzing cold water again from the same day-so much so in the end I think we had all just accepted that hot water near the east wing buildings were not available. Other than that the 2AM fire alarms were really annoying, happened 3 times over the 2 years but was still quite annoying. The staff were nice and the location, other than that for the price they charge, the state and size of the room is definitely not worth it.

Excellent location for Guy's Campus Students. Really fun place to be. Bit run down & bathrooms aren't the best. A lot of fun

very small rooms, kitchens were a large size but ours was not renovated like some other blocks despite us paying the same amount (and paying the same amount as some people in other blocks who had much larger rooms). We had to argue to get the halls to give us some form of cupboards/shelves in the kitchen for all out stuff. super convenient if on guys campus though, good security levels

It's literally a box of a room, but being in London there's not much more you can expect. Disgustingly expensive but in a disgustingly pleasant area. Close to guys campus which is perfect for med/biological science students. Close to Dover castle which you'll live in as a fresher. If you get dead flatmates it'll be a bit shit so make the most of the first few social events on your course etc. This accommodation has all of the basics, you'll get out what you put in.
