Leeds is a great city for a night out, with loads of cool bars and nightclubs, and live music venues. There are loads of cool independent cafes and restaurants too, but these can be pricey on a student budget. It's pretty green, being really close to the dales, and has good parks. The public transport is the biggest con, with an overpriced and unreliable bus network. It's also pretty polluted!

I love eating out especially Spanish food and a cocktail. I also love to listen to music and dance to it

Leeds has something to offer for everyone! Centrally located right in the middle of the north, you can take advantage of excellent and cheap bars, clubs and restaurants of every kind imaginable as well as a shopping scene good enough to compete with London. For less than £6 return on the train you can be in the beautiful rolling hills of the Yorkshire dales for when nature calls or in historic York in 20 minutes for when the culture vulture in you or visiting guest wants something different!

Leeds has plenty to offer. Cheaper than most student cities even those in the North, it has a lot to offer socially as well as being endowed with a huge variety of shops, bars, restaurants and nightclubs which offer something for every taste imaginable.

Leeds is a great city for all ranges of people. In terms of nights out there are options for almost everyone, ranging from themed club nights, cocktail bars and pubs. Most clubs have student nights which include discounted drinks and entry which makes great value for money if you are on a budget. There are endless shops in and around the city centre tailored to a range of styles and preferences and there are many restaurants. There are lots of ways to stay entertained in the city with venues such as Hyde Park Picture House and the pay-as-you-feel theatre. Leeds is a very cultural city with something for everyone.

The city is buzzing with lots of young people and students, there is an amazing atmosphere which is exciting straight away about the city. There are countless places to eat, with all types of cuisines and different styles of eateries. The shopping in the city centre, for example trinity, is amazing, with other huge shopping centres including the White Rose also being available in the city. The nights out are the best I’ve ever experienced, drinks are cheap everywhere, entry is cheap and the city gets top acts and DJ’s coming to play.

The location of my University accommodation was initially a concern, as even though I had applied for halls that were near the Business School, I was allocated to a completely different complex altogether. However, being 30 minutes from the University enabled me to utilise the transport services, explore various areas of the city and improve my time management skills (especially on early mornings). Overall, being situated at the opposite end of the city from the University was a blessing in disguise, as it allowed me to experience a side of Leeds that I would never have even seen!

I lived in a self catered halls of residence (called Cityside which is privately owned). Rent was 145 a week which is hefty, and compared to a next door, uni-owned residence which was cheaper and gave you more for your money, I wouldn't say mine was worth it. My flatmates weren't alike in any way so we didnt go to socials together. Most of the socials included drinking, too, which I don't really participate in, so it's hard to meet people in that sense

Leeds was an amazing city to go to university at. Student nights are dirt cheap, endless restaurants for food and great shopping! I wouldn’t have chosen anywhere else. Very much a student vibe, and you’re lying if you don’t love a good night out at Pryzm every now and again.

Leeds is possibly the best place for me to have gone. There’s loads of independent shops/ cafes for me to go to as well as a brilliant nightlife. The fact that it is just around 1hr away from home and family makes it even better for me. The fact that I am in a city with many different universities always helps to make nights more interesting with such a wide and diverse amount of people to share and bounce ideas off.

Leeds is such a great city to be a student, it has pretty much everything you could ask for. Shops, eateries, the most beautiful urban aesthetic aswell as the river and canal to walk or cycle along. As a student it’s easy to get anywhere within the city centre just by walking, although it can add up to quite a few miles by the end of the day!

The university is in a very bustling city which is surrounded by hundreds of students. Due to this the city is perfect for being a student and everyone is on the same wavelength as you.

Overall an amazing city. Fantastic restaurants and coffee shops, especially those which are independent, beautiful architecture and a great choice of clubs and bars, making the night life one-of-a-kind. Would definitely recommend Leeds!

The location of Leeds University is absolutely perfect. It is right on the edge of the city meaning all the vibrant city offerings are only a 10 minute walk away from campus. It is also located on the edge of the loud and colourful student community residing in hyde park, meaning most students live only a 10 minute walk away from campus. This means all students live close to their friends and all essential ammenities as well as their 9am lectures. In addition to this the yorkshire dales and Ilkely moore are a mere 15 minute drive meaning students can easlily escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a ramble in a field. York is also only a 20 minute train away, a great place to take the parents for a pleasant day out.

Leeds is a very compact city. It has everything you could possibly want within walking distance, food, nightlife, shopping and sight seeing. The main student area of Hyde Park is a walk or £1 bus ride into town. There are nights out closer to town.

Leeds is a great student city with an inviting and enticing vibe, perfect for students wanting to mature and enjoy a student life. A wide variety of nightlife to fit whatever genre or taste appeals to you most, from indie to goth, to live music and comedy, everything you could ever want. Transportation is perfect and very easy, most students living on the outskirts with buses just £1 to the inner city.

Leeds is a wonderful city to go to uni in. The city is big enough that there’s always something going on, but small enough that you can walk almost anywhere in an hour. The music scene is great and the clubs and bars are busy and packed on Friday and Saturday nights when students are in town.

Excellent nightlife and a range of excellent restaurants and cafes. Good value rent and good quality housing. Plenty for any student to do.

Too many one way streets. Well compact so getting through town is easy enough. Frustrating when they have marathons or triathlons like the one on the 10th of june 2018 where they closed roads all around headingley without giving any diversion routes and leaving a lot of drivers very frustrated.

leeds is a great city and has a diverse nightlife, and events are constantly ongoing so you are never bored. trinity, white rose and other smaller shopping centres ensure you can always find what you want and there is a large student population. Value for money is fab if you're a student as everywhere is filled with student discounts.

I go to Leeds Beckett University, and honestly the location is so good. It's in between the city centre, and like the shops that lead to Headingley. You have everything you could ever need, and want, just a walk away. The night is amazing in Leeds, and due to the three universities there, most places offer student discount of some kind.
