I have genuinely loved my year living at Oxley. Although it is the furthest accommodation from the University of Leeds, coming from a commuters background, I felt that living in such a beautiful environment was worth the travel. The blocks all have big kitchens and junior double beds, and stunning grounds with benches. There is a free gym, two large social spaces, and a 24 hour study room. The only downside is the commute into the city, however I would definitely live here again.

Oxley is in a beautiful location on the outskirts of Leeds. Proper lush scenery such as the Hollies and Meanwood park are just around the corner. The halls also have a gym and computer room that is accessible for the students, and a variety of sports facilities surrounding. The big downside comes from the distance from University and shops, but with a bus pass this becomes less of a problem.

The location is very far away from the university and takes at least 25 minutes to commute in without traffic. During peak times (9 and anytime after 16:30) it can take up to 50 minutes which is ridiculous. The room is a good size and the ensuite is nice but often floods after a shower. The kitchen is very basic with a large table and would be so much more nicer if a TV was provided. There are not that many social activities on which is disappointing since other halls get so much more. I was also disappointed to be placed in an all girls flat after requesting mixed.

The best thing about Oxley is it's setting. It is a set of beautiful buildings surrounded by fields and trees. It also has great facilities with an onsite gym and piano rooms. The downside is it's location given that it is an hours walk from uni or a bus ride. The bus is fine out of rush hour but at 5pm it could take you a solid 45 minutes to get back from uni on an evening.

beautiful and good value but waaaaaay too far from the uni and the city (about 30 min drive and 1 hour walk) :(

Good social rooms for all to you, lacked the real halls experiences as I was in a house just off the halls but great atmosphere with 16 others and the experience was topped off with the living room, dinnning room and lovely kitchen.

This accommodation is really far from the university. It is also time consuming to travel to especially when there is traffic, traffic can make the journey around an hour long. There was a few occasions when there was no hot water and sometimes no water at all and you can’t control the radiator or temperature for you hall and room so sometimes it’s freezing.

Worst year of my life. 20 minute bus away from uni, 1 hour in rush hour traffic. Absolutely no social life and no attempt to get people to socialise. Blocks of 5 flats of 5 so only 25 people per block, didn’t see anyone from any other blocks. No noise allowed past 11. The whole thing was a joke and felt like boarding school

Very far from the university, but apart from that the social aspect is very good. Great facilities, a common room with a piano, a gym, program ping pong table, bar, pool table etc Local area is very nice and green a bit away from the city.

Excellent accomodation even though a bit basic situated in a very nice countryside area only problem is no supermarkets nearby and when it's busy bus journey can take triple the time (It’s quite far from everything)

Super far away from the uni. Has a gym tho which is gr8. Oxley house is v cheap which makes it worth the distance. The other blocks are bare spenny so doesn't make it worth it lol xxx also the wardens are absolute pricks

Oxley is a great place in the outskirts of Leeds. It is incredibly cheap but it is an amazing place. Including gym and bar and large nice rooms. The only downside is the distance from uni but I have a bike which skips the traffic and is only 15 minute ride

The halls were a good condition with own bathrooms and good size shared kitchen, only downside is distance from main campus but buses are available close by

A long way from campus so need to get the bus in. Room and kitchen size is quite good compared to other halls and you don’t have to share a bathroom. Fairly cheap compared to other halls too so if you don’t mind the distance to uni it’s not a bad option

Too far away from campus but nice green spaces and well maintained, great social atmosphere made by the students

Big room, double bed, but cold and bad wifi, very long distance from university, buses are very unreliable, unsafe path from bus 1/6 at night

I was not in a block, I stayed in an Anex off the main block which was a massive Manor House! Rooms were massive and the living room was always a sociable environment likewise with the kitchen and dining room. The only negative was the location with it being a 30-40 minute bus ride from university.

Good sized room, ensuite and kitchen. Nice scenery right next to the sport pitches. Only negative is the long walk to the laundry room and the long journey to university each day.
