Great facilities, location good for Hyde park / headingly area. One issue is that you can't make loads of noise later on at night but for living, eating etc it's very good.

I absolutely loved the social side of my halls experience and I think I was very luck to have so many people that I clicked with within my halls. However, the state of the building was fairly poor at times with many things breaking and the maintenance team was not particularly efficient.

It’s a decent distance from university, especially the engineering buildings. There are plenty opportunities available to maximise the student life eg free gym, musical concerts and social nights with discounts exclusive for dev students. The only downside is the room WiFi: you continually need to log into the WiFi system every time you log into your computer. Also, the services for data and WiFi excluding eduroam are poor here.

Rooms are well sized with excellent facilities there; more than any other halls. Lovely peaceful location by the woods. The formals are great. The only down side is that it isn’t on campus but only 20 minutes away by walking.

Dev is a musical hotspot this year with clubs and societies in abundance. My room is pretty standard but the 3/4 double bed makes it all worthwhile. It’s not even that pricey. #loveDev

I really like my flat - good facilities with a large kitchen. My room is really nice (it's the biggest in my flat), but the others are decent too. Only thing is the noise curfew is ridiculously strict, my flat got a warning for laughing after 11pm (none of us were drunk or being particularly rowdy and there was no music). Apart from that everything else is great.

The location is ideal - off campus but not too far away. The environment is lovely, beautiful buildings and a real community feel. However, I would not livw here again as there was an 11pm curfew that you were not warned about before application and strict noise rules because we were on a residential street.

-Really great social opportunities, lots of otley runs organised, and having dinner together makes it easy to form new friendships if you don't get on with your flat -Location is a tad far but you're halfway between uni and headingley which means you get a better knowledge of Leeds than most campus based students. -Food is not very good, very unhealthy with lack of choice and unfriendly kitchen staff who have an strict attitude which is presume comes from bad experience from previous students. The quality of the food is good, but they need to include more greens and fresh produce or healthy dessert varieties (that's not cake!) -Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Grounds are clean and safe Really enjoyed my time here!

Devonshire at first glance is stunning, very homely and welcoming. It’s located a 20 minute walk away from the university and about 40 minutes away from the city centre. It also is a 15 minute walk from Headingly which is a good place to shop if you aren’t catered. You do get an option to be self catered or catered. I was catered and the food was good with a lot of options, always having fruit and veg available! However, the timings of food were a bit inconvinient - breakfast ended at 9am, which meant to get food you wouldn’t be able to have a lie in. For first years who don’t have uni it meant that you miss a lot of breakfasts which is not economical. Devonshire was also very safe, with wardens on the site every night whom you could contact at any hour if there was a problem. Devonshire was located in a residential area, therefore the wardens would “shut down” any pre drinks past 11.00pm. This was super annoying for students who wanted to go out later but sometimes you could get around it and go somewhere else to pre. Overall my experience was really good, it was a very social halls (it had a huge common area with pool tables etc), and there were always events to get involved in within the halls.

Great location - not claustrophobically close to campus like Charles Morris but equally not all the way in another country like Oxley Best social life - a lot of Dev is made up of big houses so you’re living with about 10-12 people which is so sweet because there’s a much higher chance you’ll be living with someone you get along with and there’ll always be people around so you’ll never get lonely Best people - Dev residents are certifiably the fittest in Leeds Overall best halls - facilities include very own gym (screw the 20 minute walk everyone else has to get to The Edge), tennis courts for all the ballers, dance studio, common room with projector, pool room (rather lacking in cues at present however..) and of course our very own highly popular, fancy pants formals, complete with hogwarts gowns
