I feel like kingston is the ideal town, there’s schools, college and university. There’s almost every shop and restaurant you could ever want. There’s night clubs and bars, pubs and shisha bars. The people are friendly! There’s always cabs around, a train station as well as many bus stops. Feel like I’ve never had a bad day or night in kingston!

kingston upon thames is an amazing town , lovely walks, including bushy park, richmond park, which are all walking distance, especially at bushy park, nights out are good, easy to get into central too.

Kingston University is a great university as it offers a lot for students in terms of nights out, food and shopping for nights out it depends on what kind of stuff you're into but they have amazing deals for nights out sometimes there's free entry to some places like viper nights and you get a free shot on arrival! In terms of food and shopping there's a good high street and an amazing shopping centre full of the mainstream stores and it's big as well and 99% of the time you can get student discounts in majority of them as well as that when it comes to food Kingston is well varied in the sense that they have different restaurants for students and sooo many cultured food markets its actually amazing ! Most of the time you get good value for your money!

Kingston is a lovely area. Coming from a very small quiet town, I was concerned if it will be too fast paced for me, but it's been an easy transition into the vibe here. There's a lot of people from different cultures which I find amazing, the shopping centre is great with lots of options on offer. A very sophisticated and friendly town altogether. I think it has a bit of everything and the location is great. You have direct access to central London so there's lots to do!

There are lots of shops, including a shopping centre as well as quaint streets. Transport links are great, lots of busses and the train straight into central London. A great variety of restaurants and cafes are dotted all over town, especially near the river Thames.

Close enough to central London to not make commuting horrible, close enough to nature to provide a peaceful living experience if so desired. Good selection of shops, independent food places and lots of lovely places to get drinks. Buzzing student life, great arts university, good public transport options.

Nights out are good in Kingston, lots of clubs open on different nights. Pryzm is a good night on a Wednesday's for students, especially if you are on a sports team.

There's lots of options for food in kingston. Everything is nearby and accessible. The shopping scene at Bentalls is amazing too. I love walking around town. The riverside is nice too.

Plenty of restaurants, both high end and fast food. A few options for a night out and many pubs too. Enough shops to have you wandering for hours!

Kingston upon Thames is a vibrant city with always something to do, from shopping at the Bentalls shopping centre to eating dinner by the side of the Thames. You can even jump on a train to central London as it is only a 20 - 30 min journey. On nights out there is so much choice with clubs such as Pryzm, Viper and Hive being close to the centre. The one main downside is the traffic due to the one way system that runs through Kingston

Kingston is ideal! Not only do you have a mix of all sorts of shops and restaurants to suit everyone's needs, it is student friendly with regular student nights, good clubs, fast transport links with 24hr buses!

An amazing student town with lots of shops, restaurants and a vibrant night life. It takes only 30 minutes to get to central London.

Plenty to do, small sized town, great transport links, vast amount of great pubs and restaurants, central London only 25 minutes in the train

Overall Kingston Upon Thames is a great town, there is a wide variety of shops, restaurants, scenery. The restaurants range from lebanese food to sushi, to italian, the nightlife is greay with night clubs like Viper rooms and Prym. Some of the shops are expensive but then it all depends on the brand

Beautiful busy town with so much going on, live music every week (or more), amazing record store (banquet records) lots of clubs (Bacchus, PRYZM, hive) and loads of shops; Bentall centre, Eden street and more. There is bushy park and Hampton court just a few minutes bus ride away, where there are gardens, wildlife deer and lots of photo opportunities.

Good clubs (Pryzm, Viper) which play different type of music in multiple rooms to fit everyone's taste. Has all the restaurants which you can think of to provide variety, you will not run out of ideas for your meals out. Bentals shopping centre as well as the high street has all the shop brads and live music on the street during day time to make your shopping experience better, also a Christmas market during the winter months to make it more festive. The river side offers a variety of bars and restaurants so you can have your brunch with a view on the Thames. Bowling, cinema and a theatre is also there as a form of entertainment however may be a little overpriced but has offers and discounts for students. Overall very enjoyable, well looked after, beautiful town.

Kingston upon thames is a beautiful town to live in. Not only have you got the thames as a view, there are a wide range of great restaurants, activities, and clubs to explore and experience. Every shop that you will need is at your doorstep, no need to travel into busy and tiring central london; but if you do desire this its only 20 minute train journey to London Waterloo. There is busking around every corner with talented artists that get discovered all the time, and german food markets at christmas with amazing sausages and stein beers to offer!

Beautiful location along the river thames with the sun usually setting just behind the bridge. Fantastically located - not too far from central London but far enough to feel like you’re in a different country entirely. Victorian-style buildings around the town, great markets and high street shops all over and the remarkable Bentall’s Centre is at your availability too. Lovely restaurants, bars and pubs and there are a few good clubs to cater for all music fans too. Great transport links throughout the day and the evening. A few night buses operate, which take you all the way to central London within an hour and a half.

The location of my campus was in the right place, it was away from the main town centre and quite secluded. This made it peaceful to be on, espically as the campus had a modern feel with a lot of greenery around. The food on campus was the best and it was quite expensive too which made me even less likely to eat it. I did not go out much but there was a night life that welcomed all of the 3 local universities and when I did go out I enjoyed myself.

I think Kingston University is amazing location wise, it’s 30 minute train journey to Waterloo so not too far from central but a much nice and more chilled environment to live and study in. As it’s on the Thames you can take lovely walks along the river and even go for boat rides to Richmond/Hampton Court. There’s tons of great restaurants and shops (a bentall centre), as well as a daily food market. There’s a few different clubs dotted about which is good, and a few pretty decent music venues too which means there’s usually something interesting going on. Living costs are a little expensive but not as bad as central London.

Kingston is London but not really London but still London. If you’re an international student and you’ve come to experience London I think the best choice is to come to somewhere like Kingston, it’s a quaint town in zone 6 and doesn’t give you the overwhelming business that central London does but if you want to go into London, train from Kingston is half an hour into London or you could go to surbiton and get the fast train which will take 15 minutes. Kingston is a very picturesque town especially during spring/summer, the river is a nice place to sit and study or just chill with your friends.
