Seething Wells Hall

Rooms are minimal, kitchens are horrible, dull and basic. The radiator does not heat the room up, only the area directly next to the radiator. Walls are thin, toilet/shower is tiny! Gate closes at midnight, which is inconvient for me as I work night shifts, making it impossible to drive in from 12am-6am. Uni bus is very good and useful.

The staff and security at Seething Wells are brilliant and always helpful. You always feel safe at Seething wells with constant security staff and barriers to entry. Other things I like about Seething Wells is the Free parking as there is lots of free parking space and the fantastic location it sits in right by the river Thames and just a five minute walk from Surbiton station. However, Seething Wells is severely outdated. Furthermore, some building blocks have new accommodation I.e- new kitchen, furniture and bathroom and are paying the same price as those who have the awful, outdated kitchen and bathroom. There is no communal area for students apart from this tiny room with a computer in it. Halls are the place for new students to interact and socialise and if there's no space for that then some students (like myself) are unable to form strong relationships as there is no real opportunity or space for that to happen.

I had the budget room which is extremely extremely tiny. However I don't mind small spaces so it was okay. The window was a decent size and there was shelf space which was nice. There was also a tiny onsuite which was good. The kitchen wasnt honestly and things broke alot. The cleaning system was also bad because we would get charged £20 if we didnt complete our rota on time which was stressful with going away ect. Another downside is very strict security. However, the outside area was alot of fun in the summer and in the snow. There are bbqs and benches to have social gatherings. The grassy areas were so nice to sit on when it was sunny. There are also soon good events held in freshers. The location is also good as its so close to surbiton town. There is also a free bus to uni and town on weekdays. I miss halls alot for the sociak aspect aswell. There are also some local foxes.

Decent facilities and overall good place to live for the prices but has several maintenance issues and could be more modern

The location of the halls is great as you are right next to s town center, useful for quickly going getting groceries. They have uni buses that run everyday week day, Monday to Friday, which is very useful as it saves you from walking to Kingston town center or the university. Even though it is a 20 min walk. There is a lot of space to hang out and make new friends, such as the common room in reception. Or even the basket ball court. He rooms are decently sized and perfect for revision, my room is perfect as it's very quiet from any noise pollution. However there are a couple of faults such as heating which often fails, or the lights randomly switching of. But you can easily report these issues to reception and they're always dealt with as soon as possible, more often than not on the same day. Do farmyard experience has been very pleasant, and the staff there are amazing too.

The best thing was the field, otherwise it was over-priced and very small compared to other halls I have been to. No communal area. Unclean.

Great location and transport, supportive reception, cleaners not great and hit water runs out quickly, biggest issue - silverfish!!

The kitchen is the worst thing I’ve ever seen, I can’t believe I’m paying for it. This experience has been terrible

Good location and bus service to uni, facilities within flat are good, room size is fine and contains good storage space, small social space but some events are held

I was able to get a budget ensuite, which was very reasonably priced, even if it was a bit smaller than the other rooms. Onsite staff were great and responsive to any queries - the mattress I had was quite old and saggy and they replaced it straight away when I asked!

Located next to the river thames, good location. Bus service is good, every 15 mins. Block layout is good, easily find your way round. Rooms are old though and small so can't have too many friends round. Kitchen size is good though. Lots of shops nearby, 10minutes walk away. Wifi us really good.

Halls are a great way to make friends. I certainly managed to make friends with my flatmates and we're very close. The rooms themselves are a decent size for what you pay for, however, the decor of the room could do with a bit of an update but once you have added your personal touches to your room it's not that bad.

Seething Wells was horrendous, i was in the budget en-suite for £115 a week. i literally could not swing a cat in the room. I couldn't have the bathroom door and the wardrobe door open at the same time, and i also couldn't have more than 2 people in my room at the same time, amd to top it all off, half way through the year (im now a second year) the toilet chain stopped working and the mainetence team insured me that it would be soon fixed; that mever happened. So they gave me a bucket, whenever i had a s*** i had to fill the mop bucket up with water from the shower and pour it down the toilet to manually flush the waste away, i literally had to re-live each s*** twice. Getting a girlfriend from another Halls of residence was mandatory for my survival last year.

The rooms and facilities are nice. People who work there are friendly. The only problem was finding coins that would work in the washing machines.

Room is a brilliant size, luckily has an ensuite too (tiny but can’t complain as we are spoilt to have the ensuite). However, the common room is very small and the flats only have a kitchen so there are few places to socialise in big groups without being cramped. However, I’m loving my time here and am glad I moved to halls!

Great place for first year students. No other halls in kingston has the same athomsphere as seething wells. Its the largest with most ammount of people. The kitchens are smaller than middle Mill, But you have en suite and Nothing is too small. Bbqs in the grassy field, pubs nearby and the river Thames. Nothing to complain about. Clay hill is smaller and people don't engage in parties as in seething wells.
