The night's out are okay but there's only 1 major venue and a spoons, not much to do shopping wise just one small outlet shopping centre which is mainly for food and there aren't really any popular stores.

This city is pretty boring tbh, but it has its perks. The city of London is close, so it’s easy to travel there every now and then. There is a decent fast food place, called Moe’s that serve yummy waffles and decent chicken and chips. The galleria can be fun but it’s not the best place to go shopping and closes too early. Another negative is that there aren’t many halal places to eat so it’s kind of torture. And the Asda is too far from campus and only they have the halal meat.

Good centre for groceries and shopping. Transport to and from the university is terrible. Lots of new things to try on student campuses, have to go to neighbouring cities for a good night out

If your idea of a night out is a pub then this is the place of you But....there is one club the uni club and anywhere else you have to get a coach Food is great and st albans is the best place if you want to go on a date or a night out for cocktails and an idyllic night Hatfield is standard but nothing special Its literally built on a motorway and the university is the key place, everything just built around the uni Its not the most interesting place but if you take advantage of events on at the uni and the fact you are a £10 ticket away from London then you will have a great time The uni is a modern thinking uni so it moves along with the times well If you like a quiet life where you can sit and chill but also have the opportunities to spend the evening out with your friends then youll love hatfield

A quiet town, if you’re one that likes to party or want a good night about town then you’re lucky it’s close to London. No good clothes shops around and a few nice restaurants in the Galleria

It's close to London and the airport which is good, However there is nothing for students off campus except the food in Galleria. Busses always late and too expensive

Transport in Hatfield is not as frequent as it should be, due to them only running every 30mins. There are hardly any clubs in town for nightlife but there are a few pubs around. The Galleria is the main place to go if you fancy eating out as it has places like McDonald's, Nando's, Pizza Express etc.

The town itself is quite small but has a decent variety of shops, however there seems to be quite a big rodent problem in and around the town as a lot of people litter. There is a large Asda and an Aldi within a 5 minute drive of both campuses which is really useful and also very good value for money. There is good entertainment with the cinema in the galleria and it is very easy to get to surrounding towns on the buses. There are a few pubs in the town but they don't seem to be overly student friendly as they are mostly full of locals.

Very limited eating facilities and restruants. Atmosphere in the area is not very multi cultural and very unwelcoming.

The town Hatfield is a great small town, with a great deal of restaurants, retail shops and fun things to do however I've reviewed and given this small town 2 stars because there's really not as exciting as it should be

The Halls are great and the uni itself is well maintained and offers quite a lot. The town isn't the most beautiful place in the world, but there's always something to do.

Hatfield has a large shopping outlet centre and adjoining cinema complex plus wide range of eateries. The shopping centre comprises high street and designer discount stores all within walking distance of the university campus and halls of residence. There are several cinemas and a choice of good value chain restauraunts. On the De Haviland campus on the Hatfield Business Park there is a large gym and swimming pool open to all. Train services to London and are frequent and take about 30 minutes.

Not much to do. A uni town without anything for uni students apart from a Weatherspoons. No place to go out off campus, only shops that you may want are a good walk away.

The city itself is quiet. During the week, it might become louder and exciting (especially with parties every Wednesday night at the forum). However, the sharp contrast with how quiet it becomes on the weekend isn't great. There are quite a few restaurants at the forum and the city centre. A lot of variety to choose from. Along with a cinema.

The town itself is alright but they need to get some more shops in the galleria if I'm honest and also I think they need to be strict on individuals as well, as a lot of people harrass you and stop you even though you have lectures to vet6tll or a bus to catch

Hatfield does not have much to do for students, there is a small number of restaurants and shops in the Galleria shopping centre. More high street clothing stores and restaurants should be opened as most students resort to travelling to london . There is only one Asda superstore which is helpful however more supermarkets would be helpful. The prices in Hertfordshire are high for the quantity and quality.

Not much going on in Hatfield if I'm honest. Your best bet for a 'good' night out would be at the forum... for a casual night I would say the Hatfield spoons is decent. You're better off jumping on a train and going into London for an actual night out.

Love the fact that there is a club minutes away and it's an easy place to make new friends. Cheap drinks cheap entry and an overall great place. Love Hatfield as it's close to shopping and that's what I love doing!

There is only one club at university of Hertfordshire. I chose this uni to commute so for me it’s ideal but it’s a pretty quiet area with not a lot to do.

Hatfield is a small town filled with students - which I suppose is a good thing as everyone is in the same boat. There’s a small outlet shopping centre where you can find your main bits if you need clothes, utensils etc and a mixture of grocery stores near by which is amazing. It’s a very small town, nothing to do however. There’s one club whiccis on the university campus, whiccis only open certain nights, and gets a bit boring. Overall it’s an ok area, boring though. Can get a cab anywhere in Hatfield with aa taxi’s for £3.99 though!

Rubbish shopping, no night life, food shops are a bit of a trek, especially when you're having to carry shopping bags

One of the reasons i chose my uni was because it had a lot of things going on but still felt very rural, which was very interesting coming from a country boy. with only a few places to drink it can feel a bit boring, but luckily London is only 20 minutes away when ever we get bored of the same routine.

There is a small outlet shopping centre about a 10 minute walk away from both campuses. It has some good shops and restaurants, although it doesn’t have some of the regular shops you may see in other shopping centres. Close the the de havilland campus there is an Aldi which is good for cheap shopping and a Wetherspoons for cheap drinks. Although Hatfield isn’t the nicest place to live or be there are some good aspects. There is also a cinema in the galleria.

There are plenty of places to do food shopping. Large supermarkets include Aldi, Tesco and Asda, with smaller convenience stores on university campuses, as well as local co-ops. There is no nightlife other than on the university campus. For the next most local club, you need to go to St Albans about 5 miles away. The club often organise nights which include minibus pick up from Hatfield campuses. There is shopping in the outlet centre Galleria, but the shopping is limited. In Welwyn Garden City, there are a few shopping centres with much more choice. It's 4 miles away.
