I'm a spanish student that decided to come to Glasgow to do my degree, I really cannot complain. It's a really friendly city, to both students and foreigners, other than the weather I really can't complain!

The city centre of Glasgow is absolutely amazing. The building opposite George Square is stunning due to its architecture. Transport: train -> good , busses-> good, subway->ok, taxi-> good, main problem for all of them-> not affordable for all categories of people (i.e. busses do not have better prices for students). Nights Out: Pros : many places to visit, good food and variety of drinks Cons: close time (close early), offer drinks to drunk people!!!!!!, many drunk people everywhere Shopping: AMAZING (VARIETY, AFFORDABLE) Eating: many good and many bad places to visit Entertainment: many concerts, events -> Excellent but not that good promotion , not that affordable prices

I love Glasgow. It's an amazing city for students, with super cheap alcohol and lots of clubs and bars to keep you busy! There's also a ridiculous variety of restaurants and cafes - whatever you want, I can guarantee Glasgow has. I'm vegan and I haven't even been able to make it to all the vegan restaurants/cafes yet! The only drawback to Glasgow is its transport, trains are always late! If you live in and around the city you won't need to use them though. Why not come visit us? After all, People Make Glasgow :)

The food is ok The transport needs improving Shopping decent prices could negotiate I think that Glasgow town could improve in shopping and the transport because it's unacceptable how the shops and the prices it's good for the food the entertainment nah not for me but could improve in my Opinion

Regarding nights out glasgow has plenty of options and never boring, food places could be better or less expensive since I'm on a student budget but the overall vibe is great and a must have experience. Travelling from Glasgow is easy as it gets its only a fiver to get from Glasgow to Edinburgh the 2 must see cities in Scotland !

Glasgow is an amazing city filled with friendly people and fun things to do! There are many museums and sites to see, the transport museum and Kelvingrove art gallery and museum are a couple great ones. Nights out are great in Glasgow because there's so much variety, you won't be able to pick one place! Shopping is absolutely fantastic, with the style mile you are guaranteed to find what you're looking for. Last but certainly not least is FOOD! There is so much available I don't know where to start! From pancakes and Prosecco to the best burgers in the world to a cheeky Nando's, Vapiano's or just pizza, Glasgow has it all!

There's plenty of great spots for a night out dancing or drinking for everyone. There's a Latin bar called mango and el barrio, loads of pop clubs including bamboo, Kokomo and garage and many others. If you are looking for retail therapy there is a long strip of shops and 3 inside malls in the city centre. It is super easy to get around between the west end where the university is and town, most things are walking distance or there is the subway which is relatively cheap too. The people are super friendly and helpful. The only negative would be the cold and windy weather !

There's a huge diversity of cultures and interesting restaurants to explore and quirky boutique shops. Also one of the most dog friendly cities in Scotland which is always a plus!

Glasgow is a great city. I came here two and a half years ago to study in the University of Glasgow and I am absolutely in love with this city! I love the fact that the buildings are built in a more vintage style, the city centre with all the shops is wonderful and that leads to a more enjoyable shopping experience, and the most important thing is that the roads are always filled with so many happy and kind people and this is absolutely brilliant! Glasgow's logo is "People make Glasgow" and I can assure you that, this is so true! Glasgow is a city that is definitely worth visiting!

Glasgow is back. Once the second city of the British Empire, when its shipping, industry and commerce circled the globe, it has reinvented itself as a cultural powerhouse of music, creative arts, theatre, design and innovative cuisine. The transformation from a period of economic decline has been dramatic. It began in earnest in the 1980s, and by the end of the decade it had been proclaimed European City of Culture, followed by City of Architecture and Design, and Unesco City of Music ... the first British city to win this accolade. The rusting shipyards faded into history, and in their place rose the striking futuristic architecture of award-winning museums and performance venues. It remains one of the most eclectic architectural cities in Europe, with a wealth of extravagant Victorian buildings in red and blond sandstone with artistic flourishes. Look out for Italianate palazzo frontages, Art Nouveau masterpieces reminiscent of Gaudi, classical Greek and Roman motifs, and the lavish Spanish Renaissance style of its Kelvingrove Art Gallery. Glasgow is a sociable city that has always known how to party. In the 1920s it had 81 ballrooms and dance halls, more than anywhere else in Britain, and thousands were still dancing to big bands in the famed Barrowland as German bombers roared overhead in the 1940s. The music scene today is more diverse and dynamic, with scores of pubs and clubs rocking to indie bands, cool jazz, fiery folk and Latin rhythms, and concert halls showcasing the classics. An average of more than 100 music events take place each week, with international headline acts staged in the city's stunning new SSE Hydro arena. Scotland's national orchestra, opera and ballet companies have all based themselves in Glasgow, and this year's Turner Prize is being staged in the Tramway, a contemporary visual and performing arts centre in a former tram car depot. The city's original Gaelic name, Glaschu, means 'Green Place' and it boasts one of the greatest arrays of public parks and woodland in Europe

Glasgow is a brilliant student city, from its city centre full of high street brands, to the west end where there is rich culture that continues to thrive and give character. Studying as a theatre student it is hugely beneficial to have new shows from Scottish national theatre, the citizens theatre, the Tron and many others, being developed, especially as Scottish theatre continues to be on the rise. It is less that a 45 minute train journey to Edinburgh, with a day return costing less than a travel card to London, so me and my friends have visited many times. Likewise with journeys to Loch Lomand and other great places in Scotland.

It's a beautiful city for holidays during summer. Winter season is not highly recommended as it can get very cold in Glasgow. Christmas time is a good time to visit during winters as the whole city is decorated with lights and the Christmas spirit is the best!!!!

Interesting city, full of low-key grunge and artistic fervor. Old city center juxtaposed by contemporary architecture gives it an interesting dynamic. Food scene is incredible and the vibe is cool and laid back but also cosmopolitan.
