A night out in Glasgow can be pretty amazing. From all your well known clubs like garage, polo, bamboo, kokomo etc, there's also some really nice hidden gems like flat 0/1 and bloc, and for a cheap night out you cant beat a whetherspoons! Theres a variety of cuisines to eat, with a lot of fast food places open all night, and restaurant wise there's a big selection. The Buchanan and at Enoch's centres make for some great shopping days, as does a trip to the Glasgow fort!

Love going to Glasgow, loads of fun in different clubs would recommend club Tropicana for its 70/80s music. Transport is really easy to use as there’s regular buses and trains that are cheap as chips and aren’t a maze of routes. If you’re broke af there’s loads of charity shops and places to eat that doesn’t cost a lot of money, like the Chinese restaurant next to central station, or the abundance of Wetherspoons across the city.

Glasgow is very underrated, the shopping is awesome and it’s a very big city with so much to do and see. It’s not an overcrowded city, the nightlife / food is great (huge variety).

A very lively and friendly city with lots to do. There is a myriad of great places to eat: from great fast food restaurants to more high end restaurants, there’s food for every occasion. There are multiple shopping centres and numerous streets lined with great shops so a successful shopping trip is always a possibility. As well as shopping; you could also spend your day at the cinema or visiting an art gallery such as the kelvin grove art gallery or even just taking a walk through Glasgow green. Whatever your in the mood for, there’ll be something to do in Glasgow. Glasgow has it all.

Glasgow is not a tourist town. However, it is brilliant to be a student here. There are multiple universities and colleges so the place is full of students. There are all types of nightclubs (casual, posh, gay, hip hop, emo, rock, 80's) and bars so the night life is brilliant. Suchiehall Street is great for a night out; lots of clubs, bars, food places and very close to the train and bus station. Glasgow is also fab if you are Vegan or Gluten free with loads of cute independent cafes all over the place. If you fancy going to the movies, the city centre proudly holds the tallest cinema in the world (I think). If you are willing to go a little outside the city there are lots of trampoline parks, escape rooms, bowling alleys, cinemas, climbing centres, you name it. Value for money: Glasgow is so much cheaper than other British cities. Cheaper than Edinburgh and Aberdeen and certainly cheaper than London and Cambridge.

Glasgow city centre is centered around student and provides everything you could need. The nightlife is great with a lot of clubs open 7 nights a week, and clubs for whatever your preferred genre of music, my favourite being sub club on Jamaica st. despite being quite a pricey night out with tickets typically costing around 10 pounds per event. There are several cheap places to eat in and around the city centre as well as increasing variety of vegetarian and vegan options. One major drawback living in Glasgow (particularly in the west end) is the cost of living. My first year I stayed in university halls which is good for parties and socially but comes with a price (£130 per week and that was for the shittiest halls Glasgow uni has to offer aka Murano). I enjoyed my time here and met many of my best friends here but let’s be honest it’s way overpriced. My second, third and fourth years I rented a flat in the west with 4 friends I met in first year (in murano). This flat cost £400 per month per person and was nothing short of a shit hole. Our fridge/freezer was in a storage cupboard because the kitchen was so small, there was one mouldy bathroom and no living room so our space was extremely limited. Granted, you can find better for your money out of the west end we were limited due to distance from the university. I’ve loved living in Glasgow during my studies but like most students, I have struggled with money (even having a part time job) for the duration of my studies one and so one should carefully consider the cost of living here beforehand.

The city of Glasgow is definitely different from any other city I have ever been. There is plenty of hidden gems in a city that is totally overlooked by the proximity of Edinburgh. From the city centre, where you can find everything you’re looking for, starting from “bread meets bread”, the Cineworld cinema, Pizza spots like “Paesano”. The main highlight of the city are the amount of bars and nightclubs, as there’s literally one in every corner. Everything in the city is definitely a 10/10. The west end is the most famous end, where the Kelvingrove can be found, but the food in there is amazing too. Overall the city of Glasgow is a 10/10 for Bars and good food places, as there’s plenty of a lot of variety.

I think the places to eat are really good, there is a wide range of places to eat all over Glasgow- basically if you want to eat something, you can get it! The nights out are also good, with a lot of clubs having free or cheaper entire before 11pm/12am but sometimes the drinks can tend to be quite pricey esp in clubs in the centre. The shopping is also good and there is a wide variety of shops but there could be more vintage shops!

Glasgow is a rich cultured, exciting and fun city. There’s plenty to get upto from going to the lighthouse on Mitchell lane to exploring the kelvin grove park. Glasgow’s the top location for vegan and vegetarian food! But if you’re in to meat there’s still pleanty places to go.

The options for nights out and places for food are endless (and cheap!), the centre is great for shopping and there are loads of gorgeous parks such as Kelvingrove to enjoy during summer

I believe that Glasgow is an excellent place for shopping, from buchanan street & argyle street to silverburn and braehead, not forgetting the fort. Eating out is always a pleasure as there is many places to choose from, both independant restraunts ( grill on the corner etc.) to chains (tgi fridays, nandos etc.) and ‘fast food’ (kfc etc.)

Working close to Max’s Bar and Grill, I have had a look at their menu a few times but never had the time to pass in. I finally had a full hour to go try out Max’s Bar & Grill and I was looking forward to it. I was welcomed as I walked in the door by a waitress and was led to a seat and the girl said she would bring me a menu. I sat at my seat and waited. Then I waited some more. As I sat there I could see the girl going from table to table serving others. Taking a new order at one point then on way back to the bar, taking the time to sip on her drink and chat to the bar man.

Glasgow is a beautiful city. I have been living in Glasgow for 2 months now after moving from Australia to study at Glasgow Caledonian University. I find Glasgow really is the ‘People’s city’. The residents are friendly, welcoming and informative, always taking the time to have a proper conversation about city. The shopping is GREAT (I love Primark)! Everything is affordable and fashionable and all in close proximity to my accommodation in the Merchant city. There is also a great verity of restaurants, cafés and bars to enjoy spanned across majority of the city. However, I do find the public transport here in Glasgow to be a little confusing and EXPENSIVE! In Melbourne, we are used to using the same card (Myki) to travel on all public transport across the city, whether that be buses, trains or trams… you just touch on your Myki and off you go. Here It is a bit different, you need a different card for the train compared to the subway compared to the bus. This makes travelling a lot more difficult and much more expensive. I definitely prefer the Melbourne way in this instance. However, overall, I am loving Scotland and Glasgow in particular. Can’t wait to continue exploring the city in the coming months!

There’s always something to do in Glasgow, constant events for everyone to join and meet others with the same interests. The people here are great too hence “people make Glasgow”. Sooo many food places to try, so many cute quirky cafes with all different price ranges so even on a budget you can enjoy almost all that Glasgow has to offer. Shopping in Glasgow is great with a large town centre housing multiple shops and two main shopping centres as well as there being many other shopping centres dotted around the city ensuring you’re never too far from one. Night life is also just like everything else in Glasgow, diverse with countless bars and clubs.

A lot of attractions and a lot to do even when you’re trying to save money. Free tourist attractions at a walking distance

Glasgow has got a wide range of things to do; with many shopping areas such as Silverburn, Braehead, Fort, City Centre, etc, there are endless options for days/nights out.

Glasgow is a vibrant city with lots of diversity in terms of shopping, food, things to do. There is something for everyone. The west end has a beautiful skyline and some amazing things to do. It is culturally diverse city with strong Scottish roots mixed with cultures from all over the world. The locals are the friendliest people in Scotland. It is also considered Scotland's party capital when it comes to nightlife. Glasgow is home to a vast majority of clubs having attractive offers all year round. It is a very student friendly city.

Great city! Small enough to get around everywhere but big enough to have everything you need. Glasgows got many students there so has a young buzz to it but still holds lots of history. The nightlife is amazing, couldn't ask for more bars and a variety of places to go. Food is one of my favourite things about Glasgow. Whether ordering in or going out, Glasgow has absolutely everything you could think of eating. It gets a bad rap from people outside of Glasgow but after spending 3 years here, I love it and it's definitely my home, I won't be leaving anytime soon!

Glasgow always has something happening so you'll never have a day where you have nothing to do. They always have plenty of places that offer student discounts. Outwith the city centre there's plenty of things to do that are easily accessible by train, subway or bus. There's museums, botanic gardens, breahead shopping centre, soar, and so much more.

Lots of nice restaurants with great variety to chose from. Great shops in the city centre and more independent shops in the west end. Plenty of activities, great cinema, theatres and more unusual things like escape rooms. Also within close proximity to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.
