About a 25 minute walk from the university which is a bit of a pain but most of GU’s halls are. 5 stars for partying but 2 stars for when you don’t want to party and the kitchens full of dishes!

Probably should be shut down, it is so expensive! and is managed terribly!! Only good thing is the social life but even then it means you’ll never sleep well.

I stay in a newly refurbished block due to a rat infestation, unfortunately they rushed all of the building so we have maintenance workers in at least once a week to fix basic things. Nice free lamp tho and fairly alright location.

The halls are a fantastic opportunity to make friends for life...however they are shocking value for money and poorly equipped. They had had a very basic clean on arrival and needed painted desperately.

People who stay in reburbished flats pay the same amount as those who don't which does not seem right.

Murano was the most social of all the halls and provided a great opportunity to meet new people as everyone was friendly. The location is near Great Western Road, so not far from bars and restaurants. However to get to clubs on Sauchiehall street in the centre of Glasgow, you needed to get a taxi which could cost quite a bit of money. The WiFi was good and social spaces included sofas and table tennis which could be used to relax for an afternoon. One of the only bad things about Murano was the fact that repairs could take quite a long time to be sorted out.
