Great place to live, very modern. Location is on the wrong side of campus and there isn't a communal feel to the Halls.

Townhouse - K3. Fantastic kitchen and living area big enough for 12. We had two sofas, a table with 6 chairs and 4 bar stools. This accommodation is perfect for socialising as you have 11 house mates but also allows you to study quietly even if there are parties going on downstairs thanks to the bedrooms being on higher floors. The rooms are big and the massive desk is perfect for studying. I had no problem sharing a bathroom with one other person - because its communal it gets cleaned every 2 weeks and you save money compared to en suite. Couldn't recommend enough.

The rooms were quite big, with lots of space on the drawing boards and reasonably comfy beds, though they were single beds. The en suite was very useful and the kitchens were big and spacious with enough storage space. The Birks community is really nice, and known for being quite social/sporty, which makes sense considering Cardiac Hill (the huge hill which Birks sits at the bottom of!) Birks is a great place to live, the only downsides being the hill and it being a bit of a walk into town, particularly to get to unit one.

Really friendly halls, becomes a bit of an exclusive community because you are further away from the campus down that dreaded hill! All my friends are from Birks and everyone gets on well. Same rooms as Penny C and Holland but for cheaper! Great halls cannot recommend enough as long as you accept that it takes a little more time and effort to get to campus or other accommodations (not even that much longer only about 5/10 minutes) Social areas a bit lacking, everyone hangs out outside or in the lobby areas which isn't ideal but in a way that makes it more sociable.

The place itself was great, but the location was pretty bad. It isn't that far from campus, probably about 15 minutes walk, but you need to go through a pretty steep hill to get to campus. It's also really far from city centre, about 20 to 25 minutes walk. But other than that, the receptionist and everything else was great.

Lovely friendly atmosphere in self catered here! Cardiac Hill is the only downside but ya know could be a lot worse and your booty will thank you by the end of first year!
