There are many restaurants in the town for food and drinks. Mostly clean and safe environment. Close walk to the university. Everything is in walking distance. Not much nightlife just a couple of pubs. Can get a train into staines windsor or london though for nights out. Cinema close by. Polite people not much rowdyness and noise. Expensive rent

Egham is a really good student town, just 40 minutes away by train from London Waterloo, and 25 minutes away by train from Richmond. The shops in the town are great and offer a variety of necessities, as well as some great little coffee shops and cafes for those hungover breakfasts. Being only 5 minutes from Staines by train and car, you then have a huge selection of shops, restaurants, a cinema and a few nightlife spots. Heathrow airport is only a 10/15 minute drive away for the holiday getwaways, with other public transport options available as well. The university is in a really central location, 10 minutes walk from town, and 10 minutes walk from Virginia Water where you can stroll through the parks, and join the Windsor Great Park for the long walk.

So far my overall experience has been delightful in Egham . The town is small but has all of the essentials you need such as a Tesco, petrol station and a few other shops. We are a 15 minute bus drive away from Staines so if we require more then we are can just hop on a bus or Uber. We have a few bars and pubs that are usually filled with students so it is a great way to socialise and make new friends. Egham is quite quiet so there are not too many distractions so we are able to get our work done in time. We have a club called Atik that is quite close by( a 15 min drive away) so if we ever need a break from studying we are able to do so!

Egham is great for charity shops, churches, and loads of places to eat. It's less great for nearby Nightlife although it has many pubs. The nearest club is the Student Union at Royal Holloway, or slightly further is Atik at Windsor. Egham is relatively close to London so it's easy to get to London nightclubs by train although the earliest train back is around 5am. The area is mostly residential and feels very safe.

Egham and Englefield Green inclusive is an ‘OK’ area. It is not a particularly riveting area if you are looking for big clubs and off campus (Royal Holloway) nightlife however that aside it has many benefits. Shopping acces to Tesco, Iceland, Waitrose etc in Egham town, easy and cheap bus routes between Egham, campus and Englefield green and easy access to London.

There's almost nothing to do on nights out or in general but the area is really nice and lots of countryside, there are a few nice restaurants and plenty of takeaways.
